Sorry for double-posting.

Maniwagatari's Kodansha BOX page is now updated with official Katanagatari anime announcement. There is also Nishio Ishin Anime Project homepage open with a countdown set to 2009/01/01. Seems like we'll be seeing more and more of Nishio Ishin's work getting adapted into an anime.

wow sirn you really is following very closely with katanagatari

What?! Nisioisn Anime Project?! 0_____0 Is the man planning on getting most of his work animated?
Well I'd love to see them but I've always thought that his work are impossible to be adapted into anime, since his style is.. rather unique.
Still praying for a Zaregoto anime though.

Another one of NisiOisin getting animated, which promise a good background setting. The young man is a genius. And the summary plot really catches my attention.

Any idea about when we will get it? Next Fall?

My guess is correct. The NisiOisiN Anime Project site and Katanagatari official site is now open, it'll be aired in 2010. Still no information about production staffs, though. From reading the interview in the project site, seems like somebody else other than Shaft will do this series.

It's still a way out, but they have added some more art to the website. Also, I heard that this isn't going to air on TV, instead it will be a 20 episode OVA that comes out in monthly installments of one episode. Interesting, I hope this means the animation quality is extra good. I've also heard this won't start until 2010. :/

I'm another one here who completely admires the art on the official site. I hope the adaptation will stick closely to them.

The art is interesting. Unusual, but beautiful, and the color choices are pleasing to my eyes.
But what's this novel about?

12-volumes samurai epic, searching for 12 swords, etc.
Andrew Cunningham's writeup should be the best place to get started.

I still find it interesting (and expensive) the way they are releasing. 20 separate OADs. Hm...

It's 12-volumes OVA, not 20-volumes OAD.

The rumor says the first episode is already finished, what's left is only dubbing. (White Fox's Tears to Tiara was finished a long time ago.) Looks like they'll broadcast the series one episode a month for 12 episodes.

So a full year viewing. Not bad really, though you do have me wondering what the length of one episode will be, and if it will change per episode.

50 minutes per episode, according to the rumor. (Forgot to note it in the post above, sorry.)

It's alright, and 50 episode per month is decent in my books. It's nothing compared to the yearly wait between Giant Robo episodes.

Can't wait for this.

I'm guessing you mean "a 50 minute episode per month" instead of "50 episode per month" right?
