can someone give me my cookie? i think i was the first one to predict that neji would put his chakra in the spider semen and make his head explode. well i was half right. so i guess i should get a cookie without chocolate chips

This chapter was a bit anti-climatic, I thought. Neji's victory wasn't quite as overwhelming as I'd hoped, and it doesn't exactly seem like Kidoumaru is dead. Maa ne, at least it's over I suppose. (No more sexy Neji!

I believe he said he knew where his blind spot was..and he used the birds or something along them lines. counted them..but he did let it hit him..ouch. he admitted he couldnt avoid it but avoided letting it instantly kill him. So i believe youre right in him moving because doesnt look like kidaumaru moved from the branch

Well...if you ask me...and I'm just Some Random Guy, I'd probably say that Neji's alive, Choji's alive, and Kidomaru's toasty.

Choji's still up and walking around after his battle was completed and anyone who's been able to do that in the series has lived, as far as I know. Tsunade was jacked FAR worse than Naruto, and she's ok.

The reason Shikamaru won't say anything is because he doubts it himself. He believes in Choji's power to an extent, but during the exam, he was saying the only team weaker than his was Naruto's. On top of that, every initial situation he's led the team into this mission has led to a narrowly averted disaster, and he's probably doubting himself a little.

I think Kidomaru's just dead. He can't get up, and he already said he was severely messed up before that last vicious hit. On top of that, he looked just like the other guy that Choji killed. The only way he lives, I imagine, would be if whatever travelling parties arrive on the scene, and haul Choji, Neji, and Kidoumaru back, and Kidoumaru is just kept alive for questioning/a bad story arc where he escapes.

Also, I'm pretty sure Rock's surgery goes ok. Becuase he has to die later. Rock has to go out in a blaze of glory just like he's been talking about the entire time...probably protecting Sakura while the rest of the group is either recovering from their mission, or while they're away.

Of course, since I dig Neji's character (my favorite so far, aside from Shikamaru, and Shino) I may be a bit too hopeful to look at this objectively, but I think if the seal fading=Neji's death...you'd figure they would have shown it fading a bit. Besides...he hasn't taken any arrow in a critical spot...might have damaged his liver...but any beer drinker will tell you that you only need half of one anyway.
