I prefer Jonathan for a NG+ because it's faster, Walter is shown to be a complete badass and solo 4 DDD's without breaking a sweat, and all three of you are there when the switch is hit. While if you go with Walter than Jonathan is nowhere and you cheapen how badass Walter is by helping him when he doesn't need it.

Actually, it's established that the Whites screwed with their heads so no matter what both think you went with the other.

I also have the theory that both Timelines were merged together, thus Walter/Jonathan did and didn't go with you, as a way for the Whites to show you the buds that would bloom into Law and Chaos thus showing how hopeless you are. It's also why the Whites only give you three choices - Nothingness, Law, or Chaos. To them Neutrality isn't a possibility even though Past Flynn chose Neutrality when he sacrificed his life to get Masakado back to his senses to save Tokyo.

Navarre's fate was unknown in the previous game, he kinda of disappears after being rescued, but he dies somehow.

Mermaid's design is great.
Just for extra fanservice, they go and make the fish part of her start at the thighs instead of the hips. She's not too old looking and slender, and she has the spirits of the dead sailors floating around her(?) in reference to her lore.

In the route I played he got paranoid that angels were out to get him (he was right) and we had to smuggle him to Fujiwara in Shinjuku to get away from them.

So how many of you are playing the japanese version of F? With how the 3DS is hacked and region lock can be bypassed by it (I bought the game and didn't hack my 3D though), surely there are some people who had a taste with it?

A couple of hours in and I'm liking the improvement they made with the game. The hard difficulty is actually a bitch with enemies having tons of HP and damage cute, but with our side being balanced too by making things not getting one-shotted by the enemies. Also smirk is getting nerfed too I think but magic can do crits with it now. Also the story starts gets to 'shit hit the fan' faster than the original installment. The beginning part seems kinda light-hearted but it gets intense fast.

I'm currently at the last dungeon. Can't say much about the game until I beat it.
The extra dungeon for the Fiends... I'll do on my 5th and final playthrough (1st is Neutral Good, 2nd 3rd 4th are the bad endings).

No, because it's not confirmed which Nocturne ending is canon, if any at all.

It's also possible the protagonists were all pulled from the middle of their stories.

Ah, I've always taken them going with the TDE in the radioplay as being as close to a confirmation of which ending is canon as we're likely to get, but I suppose it doesn't definitively say it is.
