Best Anime Knock Outs!
Hi everyone
I want to compile a top 10 greatest knock outs in anime. That's why I would like to hear your opinion of what you think are some of the greatest knockouts you have seen in anime. Anyway, here are some of the KO's that I think are amazing: - One Piece: Luffy VS Bellamy: Luffy knocked bellamy out cold with one heavy punch after bellamy initiated his ultimate attack - Hajime no Ippo: Takamura VS Bryan Hawk: You can't have a knock out list without a boxing anime on the list - Histories greatest desciple Kenichi: Kenichi VS Odin: Kenichi knocked Odin out cold with a furious final punch, great ending to a great battle - Naruto: Naruto VS Gaara: Naruto knocked Gaara out cold with a super heavy headbutt, completely destroying his transformation Please let me know your choices. Your answers would be very helpful (if possible, also tell me the episode or specific battle, that would be awesome) Thanks! |

I suppose the best one for me was when Balsa smacked Mon with what was left of her staff in a risky manouvure in episode three and then later ambushes and smacks Jin over the head with a rock even though she's wounded from her previous fight. This was in Serei no Moribito.

Ladd Russo pummels an opponent into a bloody mess in episode five of Baccano!. You can watch it legally for free at Funimation's site. It starts around 08:45 into the episode.

I remember the final defeat of Crocodile by Luffy at the end of the Albaster Arc to be one of my favourites if not simply because I was waiting for so long for it to final happen. Plus Oda has a nack for making villain characters that you just can't wait to see taken down because they are just asking for an arse whuppin' with their arrogant and evil ways and Crocodile was among the best of them.

My favorite is actually when Luffy punched St. Charloss in the face. Of course Bellamy was pretty bad, but St. Charloss being part of a group of racist elitist bastards that think they can treat the people "below them" like slaves, puts him as just flat out disgusting in my book. The guy had it coming from a mile away, and I was so happy when Luffy did it.
Now I wish he could go back and punch of the rest of the Celestial Dragons in the face.

The thing about Luffy's knockouts is not just the physical impact, but also the emotional impact it carries. While the villains gets what they deserve delivered to them with pain, the audience get an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.
He doesn't just punch the villains because they deserve it, he punched them because his Nakama(which includes us) needs it.

I don't know if this counts as a "knockout punch" as other people see it per se, but for me it has to be in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, when Simon punches out Rossiu.
I mean, look at that hair fly! He's got a full mantle of ownage there. XD
