Graham didn't get owned... He knew that the Flag could not match the Gundam because he was present at the moment Setsuna destroyed the Enact, which is just a copy of the Flag. He went out because he wanted to gather combat data on the Gundam, he accomplished 2 things, 1) got valuable data on the gundam and its capabilities, and 2) gave Setsuna a hard time.

As soon as his Flag gets beefed up he'll be able to do more.

Sergei's and Graham's sorties were pretty much a,

"I want to see it face to face"

They weren't fights, the two guys were pretty much heading out to see what the Gundams, not surprisingly it's Exia, were capable of.

Though one thing we know is that you don't ever want to grapple with a Tieren. That thing nearly crushed Exia's head. Talk about raw strength

Seems like Exia gets all the attention. I'm certain Graham & Sergei would not be as fortunate against Dynames, Kryrios or Virtue .

Not necessarily so. The former Sri Lanka base is currently busy examining the missile pod Kyrios discarded, to discern its origins etc. I always wondered last episode if they would pick it up...

Graham is having his FLAG modified to fight Exia better. He gave that old guy an order of one week to finish the job. So beefed up mech and some experience will Exia will probably give Graham a decent shot at taking on Exia. It really does seem like they are setting Graham up as Setsuna's opponent so it's only a matter of time until they have a real showdown.

Another episode and still the mystery of why Marina is in the op so much is not getting any closer to being solved.

Also, I hope the rest of the world will catch up in technology with Gundams soon.

Yeah, I hope we don't get too many more episodes of Celestial Beings just owning everybody.

We need a break from the fighting to get to know the sides, politics and people better.

I wondered about that too. I wonder what CB's policy is in such matters. They're certainly not going for 100% absolute secrecy. Maybe they want to encourage a response? (I presume they still have some trump cards up their sleeves).

As a side-note, at least Setsuna picked up Exia shield after throwing it away...

As another side note, I noticed some references to space colonies in the ep. If there's a sequel series, I wonder if we will see colonies playing a significant part? (would have to be some time later though)

Soon? Even if they already have the technology to match a Gundam (which they don't), the superpowers would take at least a few months to build a new suit that works.

Yeah, I agree. Sergei threw his gun away, and Graham obviously did not fight seriously. But at the very least, it shows that these two ace pilots still stand a chance against exia, unlike Patrick

Ha, I'm sure Patrick will get his crap together some time!
I mean, look at the guy. He looks like a total psycho! His flying in the beginning of Ep 1 against the dummies wasn't all that bad either =P

Is Gundam 00 really throwing in references to other Gundam series? If Graham had a better mobile suit, then he would have a better chance against Exia. CB is really causing quite a stir against the other factions that all three are now focused on CB and the Gundams. It would be easier to know which side are we looking and rooting for. Also, shouldn't there be a masked antagonist like in most other Gundam shows? The show really needs to focus on a few characters that will definitely have a huge impact on the series.

LOL at everyone finding excuses on Graham's defeat. He clearly wants to fight Exia and gets beaten. It's just that he's lucky enough to gain some of Exia's data.

Sorry, we're just hoping to have a series with battles that don't always end in CB winning; IE, predictable.

Too bad that he's not in the OP. Isn't that pretty much mean he's just a side character forever?
Or he may shine in second half of season. Another Orange-kun?

Yeah, hopefully AEU in general gets its crap together. From the looks of things though, they're pretty weak... exporting MS to terrorists, copying the Flag's design, lacking a decent pro pilot, not having a complete elevator... bleh.

Hopefully this will be a real 4 faction fight, not a 2v1.

Question. Why Exia has to throw away its shield when it draws its beam saber?

Probably can't draw the beam saber with the shield on, or maybe he wanted more speed to catch up to Graham and dumping the shield to get rid of the weight.... or maybe both those reasons.
