To preface this, given the discussion the past week, the wait for Yami hasn't bothered me much. She'll arrive when she arrives. Then again, I prefer the girls more like Haruna's friends as far as these things go - the wisecracking, fun, types. Moving on.

Stela was a much more forceful presence than Pikari, and thus made the episode a bit more entertaining this time around. Also, Magical Kyouko made her first show-in-show appearance, complete with theme song. (Which I'm hoping is on a future CD. Just because.) Also, some nice fantasy sequences involving Haruna. Despite Stela's intentions of grabbing her, the only one who did any sort of grabbing was Rito. Purely by accident, as always.

I also liked the start of the episode. Rito's having a Haruna fantasy sequence, only to cut to him waking up. Then we see Lala's also having a dream and hugging her pillow. It's not just for men anymore.

So a normal, yet fun, episode.

And next week the complaints of waiting finally come to a halt for...a good portion of this thread. For me, it just means some nice action sequences and the rounding out of the cast for the rest of the series.

Anyway this episode wasn't too bad. I can't stand the imp woman but those scenes with Haruna was just golden. I feel sorry for Rito that he recieved that slap for no reason...but he did have a pretty good feel of her chest so that was a small price to pay.

It doesn't add much to the story but some parts were enjoyable.

Now I need to go fanboy because Yami is showing next

The one who manages to save him just in time was Lala.
Lala and Golden Darkness's grand battle begins...!

Yami is the case of "Hina syndrome" where the supposed not the main character becomes more popular than the main ones. Same things happened to hinagiku from hayate, and same things happening to Yami as well...

I bet authors in both cases never thought that the filler-in characters would surpass the main stars in popularity...

So it looks like the episode will be closer to the manga than I had speculated from Freeter's screenshot. (with the exception of Rito meeting up with Haruna, which never happened in this arc in the manga)

Now that I inspect Freeter's screenshot, I see that there's a little battle damage to the upper part of Yami's outfit ( ), so I would guess that that screenshot comes from at least partway through Lala and Yami's battle. I would say it's from Lacosbo's clothing-melting-acid-spitting frog(-ish) thing, but I wouldn't think they'd have time to get that far into the respective manga arc in just one episode, especially with the initial part with Rito running into Haruna, according to the preview summary.

Is Yami more popular? I know on here she is... and personally she's my second fav behind Yui. (and Yui only overtook her in the last 20 chapters) Has there been a character poll in the manga since chapter 57?

If there was a poll done now top 3 is definitely going to be Lala, Yami and Yui, though what order is the main question... Yui got so many votes for only being introduced in chapter 50... and she has really shined in the last 30 chapters.
