Episode 3 is as funny as episode 2. The focus is about the friendship this time.

The episode outline each character's relationship.
Riko is the main girl and the WINE(Wind Wine). She joins the student body to support Natsuo. Natsuo is another girl idol. She is known as the princess figure among the students. She is interested in the romantic research. Natsuo's rival is Yuiko. At least, Yuiko considers Natsuo as her rival. Yuiko's special trait is her candy like fluffy hair. She is raised in a rich family. At first, she wants the recognition from Natsuo. Due to the lack of communication, Natsuo never responds to Yuiko. So, Yuiko becomes a bad girl. Then, Yuiko tries to destroy Natsuo by embarrassing her before class representatives. Even she gives up her plan, her plan is accidently carried out. Yuiko is also embarrassed when Riko speaks against her. The good thing is Yuiko also has a good friend. Her friend Saori helps her out. Saori joins the student council to support Yuiko. Their relationship is well carried out.

It's something I found from other forum. Even the story telling is in a good shape, I still find emo kid/hipster bashing about this show. They criticizes its genre as if they never watch this show. Maybe they just want to agitate viewers of the show without even watching the show.

I like this series. The interplay with each character's idiosyncrasy is such a delight. Everyone are all likable. The comedy is sure is rapid firing and the story moves like an out of control freight train that'll still hilariously head to next station.

The comedy continues to be good, but Episode 3 felt a bit overly melodramatic to me in the more serious parts. I hope its awhile before we get this level of waterworks again.

Liked this episode as well. The real meat of the story finally started, and I really enjoyed the conversation between the main heroines, in which most of them involve romantic subjects. I chuckled a bit in some scenes, like when Suzu accidentally falls to the point of having her tea time getting broken and Maki feeling frustrated about her ideal dakimakura. Riko did think about her past life, the treasurer acts a bit perverted and I love Eno's jelly expression. Will continue enjoying the show for sure and I will look forward to see what's going on the next episode since it looked a bit dramatic looking at the preview scenes.

That was the funniest sequence in the series so far.

They need to release the lingerie song on a character song CD. That was just absolutely hilarious.

Man that Sayori was a pretty big pain for Riko at times this episode. At least Suzu managed to help diffuse things this time. A nice balance in the group really with each having someone that can put them in a tough spot and make things interesting. Though really Riko is putting herself further and further into the hole.

Can say I was surprised by the whole Sayori having a boyfriend thing, but it was a fun way to shock some of the group .

Never would have guessed that the lingerie thing would actually be followed up on .

Something tells me that Riko's predicament has the potential to escalate into something highly melodramatic, towards the end of this show.

Even Sayo has a boyfriend, I don't see why Maki and Eno can't get boyfriends. Since it's not yuri show, there should be male students showing up. However, their silliness and oblivious can be their major obstacles.

Maki and Eno surely get alone. I think they fit in the category of tennen boke(天然ボケ). They make funny expression without even trying.

I don't see it that way. Sayo is trying to nudge Riko into coming clean with her made-up love life. Nothing good can come out from Riko keep lying to her friends. If Sayo really has malicious intention, she would’ve stalked Riko and blackmail her for money.

Sayo's best quality is that she is cunning, calculating, and levelheaded. She was able to grasp the whole picture regarding the situation of the other council members. She isn’t swept away by Maki’s overflowing passion for romance and could spot Riko’s lie in an instant, what’s more, she’s actually the only one with boyfriend. Unlike Riko who plays straight man for most part, but actually not so above it all like how she play with her hair in the restroom. What made Sayo stands out from the rest is that she’s the one who is truly above it all!

Sayo as a character really surpass my expectation. When she was introduced, I thought she’s nothing more than in it for the money, but in truth she’s actually concerned for her friend Eno’s best interest. Despite not really interest in love research compared to the rest of the cast, she joins them anyway because she finds their antics entertaining, and I believe she actually cares for them deep down. Yes it is given that she’s fond of money but I can’t picture her selling out her friends for it.

Her best quality with her inner character combined made her most suited for overseeing the council and providing support from the background in time of crisis while flying under the radar as most people will be paying more attention to Maki and Riko. Because of this, I’d say Sayo more of a valuable asset than a big pain.

A show about how to hook up with guys and people expect Yuri...wow...

Sayo trying to make Riko come clean is funny, but Riko...can't seem to do it and now the story is getting bigger each time ^^;

All the new characters haven't made it feel cluttered at all, they have all made the show feel better and I think that's great. This show doesn't have a "I wish that character wasn't here" continuing to be my favorite of the season despite a few other shows having risen up for me.

Also, Riko's constant new hairstyles are lovely!

Agreed. That was totally hilarious and magnificent. The fact that Maki's dad is actually a good singer makes it even better.


With episode 4, Love Lab continues to be total comedy gold. One of the best comedic shows I've seen in anime.
