RDG: Red Data Girl novel discussion

Left: First original publications of the RDG novels(#1-4) by Noriko Ogiwara(6 novels in total published)
Right: Reprint of the RDG novels to coincide with the anime series

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RDG_Red_Data_Girl

RDG: Red Data Girl was a series I only started watching recently. Based on the novel series by Noriko Ogiwara, I am impressed by both the artistic quality and supernatural/spiritual themes prevalent throughout the show.

Given no official English-language translations of the full RDG series (#1-6) currently exist, I would like to encourage anyone who has read the original RDG novels to discuss
1) novel plot developments and twists /events of the novels
2) novel spoilers/novel ending
3) how much novel material is being adapted for the TV series

Hopefully this can provide some enlightenment for anime-only viewers who wish to know more about how the original novel's event progression.

Sorry for the double post but here's a summary of the end of volume 5, which was covered in the last episode of the anime, and volume 6, which the anime didn't include. By minuetto from myanimelist.

Spoiler for spoiler:

My understanding is that the RDG TV series has already ended. So I'd like to ask some questions re the novel's true ending in vol 6.

1) Does the novel ever fully reveal WHO the Goddess/Himegami REALLY is?

2) Did Yukimasa ever have sinister agendas towards Izumiko and her powers, or was he just being too overprotective of her by not answering her questions?

3) Is the drama surrounding the Souda siblings ever resolved in vol 6? If yes, how?

I hope Baka-Tsuki translates this, the anime is only 12 eps,

seems so short.

Oops, I missed the why.

Because Izumiko's the himegami, I suppose. I'm no sure because I didn't read the book myself, but really I think that's reason enough.

I wish to know more about this because i just finished the bd. Marathoned instead of sleeping and I'm happy with the story but it looks like there is one more volume to come and there are lots of things not explained. Which I wish someone can answer but it looks like this thread is like a ghost town.

Some who read the novel before watching anime consider the anime is so brief that just like a teaser to the novel..and are things really work like it for the series? don't know if it's a good idea to invest money on it..
