Considering what's about to happen, I thought something related to Stacia descending to Underworld would be more appropriate...if possible, something that doesn't sound as embarrassing as EXPLODING.

I'm not going to kill Kawahara Reki over this, but...seriously?

Exploding...probably refers to the gate exploding or Alice's beam-spam...I guess that sort-of EXPLODES...maybe just the war exploding in the sense that it finally started. In that case, I'd have expected something more like BURSTING...just because I got used to Japanese Games.

I guess there's something good about this too. I'll forever remember Alicization EXPLODING as the most hilarious title in the series...not to mention erotic...

Fucking finally. It's been exactly one year since the last volume of the main series came out. What's Kawahara been up to during that time? He did release SAOP3 last December though.

Anyways, I know the Alicization arc always has the second word in the volume title ending in -ing but Exploding? I know it's the climax of the arc but Exploding doesn't feel like the proper word. Usually the title conveys the happenings of the volume, like in Turning where things turned for worse when they got imprisoned, or Dividing when Kirito and Eugeo got separated. I can't see how Exploding would convey the volume's events. Sure the war starts with a bang but I doubt that's just it. Exploding just doesn't capture this climax.
Ah well.

Synopsis doesn't say much so we'll have to wait for another month for a more detailed one as well as the cover.

The latest BD (this month) also contains "Sister's Prayer" in the Limited Edition version, which is a 100+ page side-story about the early days of Sleeping Knights. So that could have been a factor?

I'm still laughing so hard over EXPLODING. I 100% agree that Descending would have been a much better choice.

Well that answers the Exploding part. So they're going to get up to that part with Asuna huh. Certainly it'll be pretty explosive, whether in the battlefield or in Alice's tent.
