And letting Berserker kill everyone wouldn't accomplish anything. He didn't want "Shirou to die", he wanted "Shirou to die by Emiya's hand", thus creating a paradox and deleting himself, and likely the entirety of that reality, all in one go.

I thought you meant the actual effect of Avalon. The passive regeneration doesn't help too much against surprise attacks like with the Student Council guy, as he just dies instantly.

Okay, okay, I'll concede this. I'm not that knowledgeable about FSN/Type Moon anyway. Just liked the game.

...except when stuff like Souichirou Kuzuki randomly leaving Rin and Shirou alone, happens. XD

It was actually the other way around. He gave away Avalon to Saber before the fight against Kirei, so she could face Gilgamesh at full power.

Not sure if anybody asked, but how many command seals did Kirei have in his possession ? Anime wise F/Z, it said 9 against Kiritsugu. He gave 2 away to Kariya earlier. But, in FSN, I think he burned at least 10 seals.

He had to get new seals for Lancer if I recall.

He didn't need Lancer's seals, he just had to KO the Master to get a chance to contract with Lancer.

Even so, he has an additional three, he needs at least 7 more to make up for that 10.

Assuming he also lost his F/Z seals when Kiritsugu killed him.

Another answer is that the Grail somehow is giving him unlimited seals.

But the thing is that if the Master dies, he will lose the seals. Refer to Ryuunosuke.

Which brings back to another question: HOW does the administator even get extra command seals. I can't imagine the church going to the survivors of the wars and say, "Oh, the grail is over. Therefore, please transfer your seals to this man. Or you will die."

Fate/Zero is kind of shaky on canon. I'm pretty sure the seals remain as materialized pockets of mana that can be removed.

Maybe there's an answer though...

They need to remain post-mortum since, otherwise, cutting off an arm wouldn't allow one to take the seals. It's not like the arm is going "Okay, the body's still alive, so I gotta keep these seals here" or anything.

That's also likely where the Judge's extra seals come from.
