this is OT in this thread i know but i just wanted to ask..

since you guys have been arguing if misaka is a MC for a while now, i'm wondering, is index a MC as well seeing as touma is always the center of the show.

to rephrase, if misaka isn't a MC can we consider the same could be said about index?

Considering the title of the light novel is To aru Majutsu no Index. But what did Index do? eat and eat and be an annoying little girl. Well she did something good every now and then. But still it's about slice of life of Touma

And it's just happening in To aru Kagaku no Railgun is the side story of the novel. Now if they do an original and change the fight of Accelerator and Touma and Mikoto just miraculously beat up Accelerator then it's not a side story anymore of index. It's an original story from that point. And even if Mikoto didn't beat up Accelerator but something totally different from the novel and totally original then this story is original story from that point and not just a side story.

This is ridiculous anyway, both Index and Mikoto are featured prominently throughout the story more so than the other characters which makes them main characters.

As a testament to this, just ask anyone "Who are the main characters in Toaru?"

For Index - Touma, Index, Mikoto, Accelerator
For Railgun - Mikoto, Kuroko, Uiharu, Saten

Without thinking, most people would give you those answers. If you can reach this status, you're a main character- Realize that out of those 4, Accelerator didn't start out as one, but over time people like him and he got featured more and more. Elevating him to 'Lead' Character status telling his own story.

Really, waiting about a month for a story we know already is not enough worth the wait... thus the arc must have focussed more on the "Mikoto's perspective" instead showing a battle we know.
At this point the story can't be said is from her perspective anymore.

what an awesome art. That's all I can say. The artist is really great. Compare it to when I'm reading index manga. Railgun manga > index manga.

There are some more spoiler pictures for chapter 37 and it looks like the reason that the fight isn't over yet is because there was a flashback about Accelerator and the start of the experiment.

Don't forget Fiamma, the implications of Touma's heroic path punch + preach worked on him, we can be in front of the Accelerator from the magic side we asked a long time before.

Same here, was starting to get... desintered/bored on this second half of the arc. Still the art is good.

What can I say, Railgun manga really makes everything flows better.
Instead with Accelerator just go insane in the end, it makes it clear why he would snap after getting lectured by Touma. It pokes right through Accelerator's denial. Or you can say that is the most horrible thing you can say to Accelerator at the time.

Touma is very good at hitting at person’s soft spots like did to Kanzaki.

The term 'Main character' is kind of subjective. To me, Protagonist, deuteragonist, tritagonist and antagonist are all main characters.
