While Hidamari Sketch (Yuno) and GA (Kisaragi) are still within acceptable limits, this is exactly the reason K-On! (Yui) and A-Channel (Run) puts me off-- I have serious doubts on whether they're not disabled, esp Run.

Senpai is not stupid at all (she has better grades than Yanagin)-- does that mean she actually pretends to be dumb in front of the guys? (The last part was not what I observed among the female students in my Co-ed high school)

Well, I guess it's making fun of those stereotype that boys doesn't like girls smarter than them. So yeah, sometimes in any media there will some characters as smart girl that pretends to be dumb or hides her intelligence just to get the guy. But of course common knowledge should be okay, that's why Yanagi and Ikushima get mad(and where the joke is).

As a smart girl myself in real life I observe that intelligence doesn't really matter at all but it's not the trait that will attract boys. It's like an extra bonus if the girl is beautiful and smart as well. Like, "Wow, not only she's nice and pretty, she's also very intelligent!" something like that.

In my case, they won't tell how well they did on tests even after they promised they would if I told mine first. Heh, I'm pretty much a non-conformist, I shot them down first simply because I knew... and that I don't have to know through them anyway.

... I'm pretty much that kind of a boring guy for conversations like that... Girls, if you ever see someone like us, please smack us in the head if we refuse to play along... and try to make us talk.

I expected a more serious discussion on the love flags lol.

So Habara and Mitsuo wore each others' shoes for the entirety of elementary school, eh? Oh bloody hell.

And Yoshitake's sister clearly was serious when she was yelling at Hidenori's brother for not noticing her feelings. I found the violence in that scene kinda jarring though.

A brilliant episode apart from the somewhat jarring violence from the girls but my favorite skit was definitely the last one. Poor Mitsuo. But Yoshitake himself wasn't exactly a smart kid apparently. In contrary to his playing "the hero". Maybe he played that role for precisely that reason o_o.

In any case, the Mangaka sums up my thought on the series.

who's the orange haired girl in the 'Yuusuke' segment? Is she a sister of one of the three main trio?

Yoshitake's sister.

It was mentioned during the skit when Hidenori flatly told her she was always around during Christmas.

The girl at the river killed me.
This show is great for laughs indeed.

"Being an idiot who doesn't even know common knowledge is what makes high school girls cute!" No Sir, no satire of anime gender stereotypes in this series at all.

Literary Girl continues to deliver huge laughs with every appearance. I thought the balance of style and characters was better for the episode on the whole this week, and the ep benefited from that. But wasn't that Tadakuni's sister in the scene with Hidenori's older brother (Sakurai Takahiro)? In which case the "little brothers" comment seems odd.

nah, it's just the standard way to grab attention from the girl if she is indeed his girlfriend.

Her 'our little brothers' probably refers to her's and Yousuke's, ie. Hidenori and Yoshitake.

Regardless, that's alot of Love Flags for a slice-of-life gag comic, I'm not used to having everything I asked for in a series

Just watched episode 7.

Awww, I feel really bad for Literature Girl now The first half of this episode was pretty boring and not that funny, but the Literature Girl scene saved the day! And the scene right after that one with the teacher looking at what the students wanted to do for their future was excellent

And poor Mitsuo as well XD

Literature Girl was good as always, high point was when she started crying. Liked that the guy had a bandaid ready in his jacket pocket.
Such a pure maiden in love is rare nowadays in anime.

What was he talking about 'glaring at her' or what not, did it skip over a segment? Don't remember that happening.

My god, bungaku shoujo was so damn cute... again, which reminds me, aside from her parts, my second best favourite are the high school girls ending segment, in ep.7 they pretty much nailed down everything annoying about moeblobs, and absent in hentai

Did you not notice how she yelled at him for lying afterwards and especially that still after the skit where she goes "so he doesn't have a girlfriend, huh..." only to have Tadakuni's little sister freak out? She was completely serious when she blamed him for not noticing her feelings for him.

As chaos2frozen pointed out, her "our lil' bros" made complete sense because she was replying to the older brother of Hidenori.

He kinda glared at her after she laugh at his "the wind is sparkling" comment last episode.

I'm not sure about whether or not she's completely serious then, but I think love flags are genuinely triggered by the scene break. In any case, this series has never really treated romance seriously and those two are side characters at best, so I won't hope that it would develop much.

That, or she feels that her brother is so immature that she might as well be her little brother despite being older

Literature girl why are you so funny! I used write stupid stuff like "I don't want to be a lawyer." or I want to be a "Grim Reaper" on questionnaires like those asking what I want to be in the future. The teacher would usually laugh it off though.

Maybe they should have added "Hokage" and "Kaizoku-Ou" to the mix.
