MJN has presented us with another "One Shot"; they sure pick some fine series.

Anime San Juushi is a classic, a very good adaptation of the original romance "The Three Musketters". The music, the design quality (for 1987), the pace, well, basically everything is good.

There's even an "educational" documentary at the end of the episode (very "The Mysterious Cities of Gold / Les Cités d'Or" style) about France. The version that aired in Portugal didn't have any documentary; possibly because France (and most european countries) is very near to Portugal, so the portuguese have a fair idea of France. The same probably doesn't happen in Japan, being so far away. To sum up, the documentary was a very nice idea, as it is always nice to learn about foreign countries.

I can't wait for the next "One Shot" release.

I'm currently watching this show on NHK weekly and am so glad to see at least one episode subbed. Thanks so much. Hopefully a group will pick up the rest of the series plus the OVA.

Big thanks to MJN for this. It's a pity that they're only doing one episode...

It says theatrical feature - also seen it called an OVA. アラミスの冒険 or Aramis' Adventure (it says Aramis The Adventure on the VHS box) is what I was referring to. I've seen it listed as 55 and then 45 minutes long. It was made in 1989 when the series was completed. It's included with the second half of the DVD box set that was released in 2003. (Aramis is my favorite lol)

So that's why I can't find this thread! I've been typing it as one word [Sanjuushi] XD

Anyway..back to the topic. It's kind of sad that the the whole thing had not been subbed. It's one of the animes from my childhood and it made me interested in French History. Not to mention that I love Dumas' works.
