I'm sure they'll come up with other acronyms. Villains don't go away until they actually die.

And some don't even die if they are killed.

Iranians Clash with Police as Their Currency Plummets

Quote:
Riot police armed with batons and tear gas confronted money lenders and shopkeepers in Tehran today as worries about the failing rial have lead to anger and street protests. The Iranian currency has lost more than 40 percent of its value against the U.S. dollar in the last week, hammering businesses and traders who are finding it impossible to maintain prices. Things have gotten so bad that cross-border trade with Turkey has come to a standstill.

On Tuesday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responded to currency crisis by vowing to crack down on illegal money changing and speculators, further angering the rather sizable number of traders (legitimate and black market) who rely on the exchanges to do business. On Wednesday morning, about 100 traders and money lenders gathered in front of Iran's central bank to demand greater action on the struggling economy, and many of the shopkeepers at one of Tehran's largest bazaars closed their stores in solidarity. Riot police quickly dispersed the group, while other officers swarmed on a popular black market district, rounding up money changers in a series of "cat-and-mouse" chases. Protesters responded with larger marches and burning tires.

To ''drown'' them in concrete seem to me a better idea .

You have to get them in a location you can fill first. Fire just requires a flame, the zombie should be flammible enough.

Looks like Iran's starting to feel the effects of the santions. The Israeli people might feel better for it even if their government wants to strike.

Philippine official seeks UN support in peaceful settlement of disputes
Quote:

"To address this challenge and to arrive at a durable resolution, we must rely on the rule of law and not the force of arms. We must rely on the body of rules that state that disputes must be resolved peacefully. We must rely on the norms and rules enshrined in the Unclos,"

What they are up against is the Treaty of Taipei and its version of what the Japanese gave up following World War II. As well as the San Francisco Treaty, though the islands in dispute aren't mentioned in the Allies treaty...only the Chinese one.

It sucks to say it, but I wouldn't rely too much on the UN for anything. After all, I can't remember the last time they managed to solve anything well enough for my own taste. Bosnia and Rwanda still leave a sour taste in my mouth as symbols of the UN's failures.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

I know that. Still, so many things slipped in the previous examples I named and I know because of the many horror stories our own troops from those times told us after returning from over there. Since those days, I'm not quite a fan of the UN and I don't think I will until the day they will show me they can grab a particular issue by the scruff ot the throat.

The UN was designed to stop a full on conflict before it escalated. It has not been perfect at this, but so far, no World War III and no major war in Europe.

Many would say than it's because of the nuclear stalemate of the Cold War, not of the UN action.

( yes, the UN do sometime ''act'' bur it's mostly by sending peacekeepers.)
