Story Synopsis:

In times of war, set in Western Europe, Eleonora Viltaria, one of the seven Vanadis of Zhcted, leads the war into Briune. There are actually seven Vanadis, named like this because they each received a powerful weapon from the dragon, to reign over 7 territories, each possessing their own. The power of the Vanadis causes dread and fear toward their enemies. An Earl in the service of the country of Briune, a young archer called Tigre, got a taste of it after he was defeated on the battlefield by Ellen (Eleonora). However, Ellen decided to spare his life after seeing his skills. In exchange, he is asked to serve Ellen...

The premise is very reminiscient of old-school fantasy novels from the past, and adding that with the great artwork, I will definitively watch it of course! Next season looks like it's going to be booted with good LN adaptations!

Is something wrong with my eyes? Cause the only thing caught by them is a bunch of watermelons.

It is a fan service series however it's not fan service heavy like say High school DxD, what it does have in common with DxD however is it has a pretty good plot.

The plot is great though. This is one of those rare series where story and fanservice collaborate properly. If they don't mess this up, that is.

The Story of "Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere" is also great, in my opinion, but there are so many cowtits in the Anime, that i would never watch it.

I'm no stranger to being turned off by indiscriminate fan service myself, but there's really a great plot to be found here, if you're just willing to give it a chance.

And the main character's actually a decently admirable guy, all things considered. ;>

Because IIRC the story is based on some book the author got from his Russian friend. Book was about king and his 7 wifes or something and it takes place more in like "Eastern Europe" than Western. Heck, I even recognize the river in maps from LN even though it has different name. Also it has a lot of slavic mythology. A map.

This is getting an anime, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm particularly interested in how some of the more unique elements of the story will be handled.

This is the first series I've seen that focused on military and political aspects as much as harem getting an adaptation.
