Hmm, I'm not a fan so I'm not sure.. is that Berryz Koubou? I think they have 7 but I see 9 dancing... if not, which idol group is this?

Boy they look embarassed... perhaps they know only otaku would enjoy this song. I know that the Hare Hare Yukai dance was actually inspired by Berryz Koubou so it would be pretty cool if they or even Momusu would do the HHY dance... I mean the current Morning Musume can base is already 90% idol otaku so it's more of the same anyway... I'm sure a remix version of any Haruhi song will sell better than any of their singles. Heck, even "Miracle" 7th gen Koharu sold better with both of her anime OP/ED for Kirarin Revolution. Anime + girl idol group = better sales.

Two other comments - I believe the quality of the choreography of the dance is greatly enhanced by the fact that I believe many KyoAni animators are women - another cool fact about KyoAni. I don't think guys can plan an idol dance like this. KyoAni is right now my favorite animation studio by far.

Also, if you're a guy, especially a out-of-shape otaku, please stop learning the HHY dance and post it on youtube... every dance step you take a kitten dies. Unless you're dancing as Kyon or Itsuki of course.

If you're a girl, however, Haruhi bless you! Keep up the good work please! If you do perform the dance please do tape it and share it with us.

Nah, I WAS a fan and they're not Momusu. Hell I even know Yosshi is graduating this year and her brother just died.. Okay I am still kinda interest but I don't buy their music anymore. *NOT AN IDOL OTAKU*

Hey but I got in back when SPEED was all the rage and Momusu was just a TV side-show... But I really know nothing about Berryz Koubou; they WERE really aimed at young girls. Unlike the jail-bait Momusu has become...

I did a little digging and the girls on the video looks nothing like the Berryz. Plus the Berryz are so big now if they were to do the HHY song it would be a HUGE cross-promotional deal and they would be on Hey!Hey!Hey! doing the HHY dance for all of Japan to see. You can bet the CDs will be from King Records (label for all of Hello! Project idols) instead of Lantis. I can't tell from the text on the screen what show it was from. So I guess it'll have to be some Japan-based Otaku who could tell us. Perhaps Danny Choo may know...

Back to the Video... after looking at the Full version several times, this is what I'm thinking - there's definately Berryz Koubou influences there but I see elements from recent Momusu videos, but I really see a LOT of Koda Kumi, especially Haruhi's both arm swinging out movement. There are some original elements like hands shaking by side of head though; never seen that before.

If you're not well versed on non-otaku Japanese pop culture, Koda Kumi is probabaly the biggest singing act in Japan last year. If the ladies at KyoAni were to try to find some dance moves, I'll put money on the fact that they've watched a lot of Hello!Project, Amuro Namie, and Koda Kumi MVs. I mean, Koda is famous solely for her dance moves and her "ero kawaii" style. I personally dig the style - who wouldn't want to see a cute dress with half a boob sticking out. She's even had a few anime OP and ED under her belt... I believe one of her hit "Crazy 4 U" was the OP for that creepy incest-scifi anime "Gilgamesh". I think Koda would be very happy to hear that Haruhi has some of her moves.
