Hmm ... it's interesting to see yet another example of this.

I decided to watch the series on a recommendation from a friend. For me it was only "okay" ... I found I liked the episodes where she "showed off her superhuman abilities" in unexpected circumstances to the amazement of the onlookers, or when she got closer to others. For me it was not quite my cup of tea, I guess....

But it is true that a lot of folks liked this one - am glad you are enjoying it.

Check out the manga too! As was mentioned on BakaManga, it's interesting that some Polynesians have legends and myths of "squid people" to go along with the "mers". Wonder of any of them resemble Ika!

Hmm... I can't verify if this is legit or not. All the websites don't mention a second season (yet). Perhaps an announcement will come a bit later (a day, a week, a month...)?

Yeah, I saw that earlier there.

I regularly check the news section there, as well as post once in a while on the forums there, and since 2006 have made hundreds of contributions - mainly on the Japanese side (cast, staff, companies, etc.), especially seiyuu non-anime roles - to the Anime News Network Encyclopedia there.

ANN says "No date has been announced" but even to my untrained eye, it looks like the "Champion" pic says April 8 - which would be perfectly timed for Spring. Am I wrong?

Shopped shop is shopped. The one on the right is the season one announcement. I guess that explains how this one got out earlier than the others...

That explains a lot - 4/8 did sound awfully soon. I doubt it will be as long as Spring '11, though - more like Fall of this year.
