A showdown with Takayanagi.
That was interesting to watch. He was just a bully who was hiding behind others. Masumi is an interesting guy with interesting powers. At the student council elections can be fair and peaceful now. Guess things are never gonna be peaceful in that school...

Interesting episode. Looks like two schools of thought.
Yukimasa's side think that when nobody can speak to the spirits, it'll be the end of the world. Goddess/Izumiko says that if the goddess fully manifests, it'll be the end of humanity. Watching Takayanagi's takedown was impressive, and the way it just ended with slapping was kind of fun. Also good to see the main relationship building slowly. The show's still intriguing to me, and watching things develop is interesting. |

Maybe I was just off base, but I got the impression that the crossdressing spirit was actually their brother?
RDG is, kind of interesting. It went in a direction that I really didn't expect it to. There's no way I would have thought they would take it to a school for gifted youngsters setting. At the same time though, it's actually an interesting direction and I was pleasantly surprised.

I've been counting down the hours till 06 aired in full HD - even in the Nico stream it looked fantastic. Class P.A. Works visuals at their best. Nagano-ken really ought to use it as a travel video.

Wait, there's still the Takayanagi faction? I thought that guy has been 'dealt with' a few episodes ago. Guess he's still around, though after the ass kicking he got, I would've thought he woulda transferred out or something like in other 'battle stories'.
And lol@Mayura, thinking it's Miyuki who's powerful (and thus wants to test him) when it really is Izumiko holding all the cards. XD Now gotta go watch another 'version' if you get what I mean, since I'm lost at some of mumbo jumbo that Mayura was talking about. That said, the scenery was just drop dead gorgeous.

I'm not getting her explanation here. They're separating into cliques and fighting each other? Why? What exactly is a World Heritage Candidate, and why would someone want to become one? Izumiko seemed to know the term, but all Google gives me when I search is something about preserving historical landmarks.

Yeah, I think the problem is that I really don't get what is going on. Why is everyone against each other? When did this turn into some sort of competition? I rarely got student politics while in school and I'm certainly not getting this one.
All I know is that Izumiko and Miyuki are screwed. They are really in deep this time. Miyuki admittedly doesn't have any powerful skills here and Izumiko can be possessed which may or may not actually be helpful in this kind of situation. So basically unless the other side pulls their punches...they are in deep trouble.

Do you remember the text that displays briefly at the start of the credits? The ones that discuss the red data book? The text says it was the first rare and endangered species list. The World Heritage Sites list is the landmark equivalent of rare and endangered species. Throw in Miyuki's father's talk about humans who can communicate with the gods but are now disappearing. They too are in essence an endangered species or landmark. Stir all that in a blender, and I think we're talking about rare people who are granted some sort of governmental recognition of their special spiritual ability in much the same way as red data book endangered animals or World Heritage Sites. This school seems to be set up as a testing ground for persons who might qualify for this World Heritage list for spiritualists. What does earning a spot on this World Heritage list gain for an individual like Mayura? Power? Protection? Something else? I don't know. But presumably it's a good thing in Mayura's eyes.
Well, that's my theory at the moment anyway. Subject to future post-episode 6 revelations.

Not sure about the actual government involved, but I took the World Heritage Position for the spiritual folk is that they get to hold authority and govern over each class of spiritual users in the world as well as being able to learn the secrets.

I thought Takayanagi was already out of the picture after the complete humiliation he suffered at the hand of Masumi, however it seems like that wasn't enough to make him give up on the power struggle. I have a hard time viewing him as a threat after that, but since Mayura sees him as such, I'll have to roll with that.
I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by the politics, and that world heritage thing... This show is shaping up to be as good as I expected. I think it's one of the most gorgeous looking, intriguing, and interesting show of the season. Shame it seems to have slipped under people's radar. Or perhaps the first episode turned them off (I didn't enjoy it much either). On an unrelated note, drunk Izumiko was fun. That was my understanding as well. The World Heritage is the red data book containing informations about those rare people with spiritual powers, and whoever gets a hold of it will get some sort of authority over them. it might also include spells. Basically, whoever wins will stand at the top of the spiritual world in the future.

It was fun watching them on their little trip.
Everyone was having fun and relaxing. Suzuhara was so funny in her drunken state ^^ Looks like that state helped her chat with Masumi. Things got slightly complicated at the shrine. Suzuhara can really be clueless sometimes *sigh*
