Pretty much everything about this show sucked. The animation, the story, the characters... its only saving grace was that its setting was interesting. Nowhere near enough for me to come back for S2 though.

It was all but officially 20 eps anyway, just not announced as a split cour.

Well, I'll be back for season 2. I want to see where this story is going because despite the show's shortcomings I prefer something like this to 'yet another generic isekai show'.

And finally the rumours I heard were confirmed.

Their pace adaption was 5 episodes per book. I heard the books were 800 pages...

That is absurd...that makes even Seiji Kishi super-compressions look tame in comparison...

Hopefully it makes people buy the books, because this compromised far too much in anime form...

Last time I give any interest to anything Oshii is involved in. Had it. Lost it...

Holy cow, I haven't seen animation and pacing this comically bad in a long time.

I forgot that this would have a second season. The chapter is out.

I don't remember much but I do remember the characters and some chapters. I'll watch it for now, maybe the story will get good.

Is there a separate thread for this cour? Really shouldn't be since the story is pretty continuous.

For some reason, CR's stream for this show decides to hang a various points throughout the episode. I rewatched eps 9 and 10 last night. Trying to watch the new episode this morning, it still has the same problem. I usually don't see that on other CR shows. Is it unique to this?

Watched 7th Loop right after trying to watch Hikari no Ou. Not one hiccup in the entire stream. So I don't think it's a matter of not having enough servers available (especially at 7:30am EST), but a problem with this particular release. I must say it's very discouraging to watch a show where it all freezes at especially dramatic moments.

How did someone decide it was a good idea to adapt a high fantasy novel with a soudntrack by Kawai Kenji, and give it visuals that are complete garbage?

I didn't dislike it, because there's enough of an interesting storyline to keep me curious. But great googly-moogly, I wouldn't call it anime...

Should've gone with picture drama instead of having 2 shots like this right after one another...

I honestly want to like this show, but it keeps making it hard to do. I'm less agitated by the production methods and more upset with how disjointed this story is. What happened to the satellite that was so important in the last episode? I didn't feel like this episode advanced the narrative much at all.

I’ve kind of gotten past the point of wanting to like it.

Well that was sure a thing and now it's over.
I wouldn't mind experiencing the story in a better format, like the actual novels, but the anime didn't really sell the story anywhere near well enough.

Felt like there were a few good characters stuck in this mess of a story. The concepts were there but the way they were presented was largely unimpressive. The budget didn't help.

3/10
