Sort of called the open ended/leave it up to the viewer to interprete things ending. Sunrise mecha series are pretty big on those with the Big O probably being the best example.

No Kallen knew she'd easily beat C.C so that's why she spared her à la Kira Yamato just slashed everything off except the cockpit

Lelouch is big on deception and illusions. Besides, he has a ninja working for him. Sayoko was prancing around as him for a while before anyone found out. He was also big on theatrics and surprise appearances... acts of teleportation.

Sounds like he faked his death.

Expect Code Geass the movie, OVA, or R3... coming in 1-2 years.
