Hrm ... well, ep 3 was interesting, but interesting for me in the sense of it being a sort of "blueprint" of the series. It seems like the "issues" that are touched on are sorta "small" - it brings a smile, but it is a small one; it makes one go "d'awwww", but with small impact ... and curiously the smallness of size is somehow devoid of subtlety. It's not "bad" per se ... I guess I kinda wish it were more.

But at least it did not leave as bad a taste in my mouth as I had at the end of ep 1.

I just couldn't get invested in either of the little boys. Sort of an uninteresting subplot to me.

That being said, I didn't dislike the episode overall. The setting and characters are slowly, but surely, warming up to me. With several other shows' enjoyability diminishing by the episode for me this season, Natsuiro Kiseki might just end up much higher on my list than I initially thought. I'm at the very least almost certain that I'll see this one through to the end by now.

Just watched episode 1, seems like a lighthearted series, till the end where they actually fly up after touching that rock...that supernatural element seems way out of place...

I don't think it's out of place. It's even in the title of the show. Additionally, the stone played a role in every episode up to this point.

This series is, so far, not showing any indications of being a yuri anime. The "stuck together" scenes could be interpreted as fanservice, but nothing more.

Well, to each his own preferences.

Personally i feel that once in a while a body swap episode would be some good fun, and I think it was decently done, especially if its not just some random filler but it was meant to be part of the story. But a little disappointed they did not show more of life in other's shoes, perhaps it was solely an episode on Yuka's wish.

Yep. It's a very powerful reflexive dislike, for me. The actual contents and quality of the episode do not matter: introduce the body swap plot device into it, and I cannot stand to watch it. I skipped around this episode, trying to catch the highlights so I can still participate in discussion, but I could not watch the whole thing through.

On the plus side, there doesn't appear to be anything that will bother me like that coming up in the next episode.

I think the objection is not over Straights and Yuri. The main objection is that someone is kissing another in a borrowed body.

Now, if this was a run of a mill Romance anime End of a Route, I think most people will be praising it.

If Yuka wants to date that guy, I'm totally finde with it, as long as she does it with her own body. Involving Saki's body in her mess is just crazy.

The romance is really a B-plot to the far more interesting A-plot. A body swap plot! Apparently the magical wishing rock can be activated by one person, so we can amend the rules a bit. Yuka wished to be more like Saki. The rock apparently has a sense of humor, so it made her Saki. Attempts at fixing it? Only worsened the problem. But it gave the Sphere girls' a great chance to try acting as each other's characters. The date did apparently go off without a hitch, but it's not going to last. Yuka was Saki when she did it, and Saki is, of course, moving out. And Rinko (as Natsumi) ran in to stop her just before they kissed. YukaRin 万歳！ I hold no animosity towards Takashi, he's just an outlier to events that are beyond his understanding. Like prankster rocks. Where does such a rock come from anyway? Space? Beneath the earth? An alternate dimension? The inherent power of the shrine? Even if this question is never answered, it's the stuff fanfic writers thrive off. Next week: More YukaRin!

Yeah, going on a date in someone else's body is just not right. If I were to hazard a guess, it appears the wish wore off when Yuka really realized that she wasn't and shouldn't be Saki. It appears the rock's intention wasn't to grant her wish by giving her a date with the guy, but rather to fix the mindset that caused her to make the wish in the first place, and thus accept that she shouldn't try to be someone who she's not. Or something like that. I couldn't bear to watch every second of the episode. Body swap episodes are among my least favorite plot devices ever. Last edited by Random Wanderer; 2012-04-26 at 23:04.
