that maybe i have not read either novel in its entirety. i stick to the translations for WDQK and manhua for BTTH but i heared that MC in both ends up with more then one girl. So if more then one girl=harem. Granted compared to LLS, ATG HJC and a few others its a relatively small part of the story, but non the less its there

I'm stuck at chapter 1100s and it's getting real hard for me to continue. So technically, it's the last 400 chapters.

At the moment, the Yue Yang is going through a series of tests in order to assassinate an enemy and reach the end for rewards, but this is so boring. He's trapped in stage 7 right now. Have you played the Sims? It's basically that. He enters another dimension and takes on a new identity where he's forbidden to use his powers and is forced to rely on his wits to move ahead (no powers, like real life!) and mostly dolls for battle. Basically, new identity, learn the meaning of life, and move on when you get a certain amount of money. And the meaning of life? Common sense stuff to us, but to Yue Yang...

Mind. Blown.

Because of this, there are a lot of new characters and a primary love interest who's basically a fusion of two earlier love interest, a beautiful girl who's dressing up as a man with a violent nature and a tendency to beat Yue Yang up with a giant hammer when he molest her. She also may or may not be royalty. Gee... that's new, eh? Kind of distasteful when you think about it, considering Yue Yang still hasn't made whoopie the original princess yet and when there are still a lot of more interesting love interest whose stories are just begging to be developed (like his cousin or that girl who was sealed away for six thousand years or supreme). This wouldn't be so bad if the author didn't decide to focus 70% of the story in another character's PoV. Like, I don't really care about them or their side-stories. I don't want to hear them stroke Yue Yang's ego through internal monologues and read in detail about how much he's improving their unimportant lives. A paragraph or two would have done the job, not three bloody chapters.

Because Yue Yang's powers are sealed, the story and the battles are nearly 100% focused on dolls. On Gold-Ranked and Plantium-Ranked dolls. That, if his enemies were allowed to use their real powers, could wipe out instantly like cannon fodder.

All in all, preachy, reduntant, and unfocused. Also, he starts to dives too deep into modern references which breaks the immersion.

It's hinted that Yue Yang has to do this for at least SEVEN months in story time. Likely a full year. All the shit I just said? Oh... that took around three to four months. On the upside, I think the story just introduced three more love interests that I couldn't care less about, so I have that at least.

My God, I think I need a break. There's no reason why each test takes so much time! The worse part is that there are a lot of other much more interesting stories other than this one. Like, he still hasn't touched his parent's inheritence that he could already access for the last four hundred or so chapters. Or try to explore that golden palace with the Holy Tome (and other treasures). Hey, he could finally woo Surpeme or that cross-dressing emperor or that girl who was sealed away for six thousand years. Jesus, he still hasn't locked down that kirin girl yet!

yeah it is a harem then if we are looking from that perspective of whether there's more than 1 girl. but actually it is both yes and no for that actually depending on whether we want to count the sequel lol

imo i still dont recommend it if its for harem tho. theres is barely anything to read for that element.

It's been about 10 or 11 in a row now, something like 2-3 weeks worth of chapters. At this point, I'd almost rather he just not put out chapters and work on planning out the story. I mean, it's slow enough already just due to the reduced speed of releases - the crawling pace the story's been going since this arc started has just made things a whole lot worse. It doesn't help that the author taunts you with things like the Tyrant pill that you know he's just going to give to waste by giving it to Xiao Yun.

LLS is good in my opinion, rather than called the story bad, there are bad arc mixing with good arc, the 1100s arc is rather bad, but the sea king arc was pretty good. Overally, i'd rate the story as good. Trust me, there are many story where you actually can't stand reading more than 10 chapters. At the very least, i'd rate it above perfect world or Douluo Dalu in my opinion.

Well to be honest, I rather see more talking (or scolding even) in Xian Xia, because it's always power up, train, kill enemies, rinse and repeat. There's no class to them. The first 200 chapter of Ni Tian Xie Shen has this where the MC swindles his opponents entire assets, and that is something I hope to see again. Sometimes you need to stop killing and you know, use your tongue. He's smart and the settings there. I totally wouldn't mind seeing him not fight and just talk his way through some chapters.

Hmm. That's a matter of taste then. I personally, couldnt stand reading LLS. I've read 60 chapters or so, but I REALLY regret it. It was absolitarily not my thing. The MC is not a troll, rather just some piece of shit that I really hate and don't care about.

Good stories are something that I would expect consistent quality chapters from. I know you ended up not liking ISSTH, but for me that story is extremely well-written and funny on average, and considering I'm now around the point where you dropped, I don't understand why you even disliked that series in the first place. The example you gave me of Meng Hao being morally objectionable really isn't that bad at all. And in the end, it's sort of up to interpretation.

I think ATG is 100 times better than LLS, heck TDG and TGR are far better than LLS. LMS is also much better than LLS, but that's a strange comparison lol. (look at my avatar)
