tsunami? Not much of a threat shouldn't it? Considering Aokiji can just freeze it and who knows what Akainu can do.

Uh, the Dark King IS Rayleigh.

Anyway, I think his point is that those two guys don't really have any beef with the government like Whitebeard and Dragon currently do. Yes, they could attempt to rescue their former captain's son themselves, but it's not really necessary since his surrogate father is already doing just that, with additional backup from his own crew and allies from the New World.

Edit: By the way, I'm pretty sure that Whitebeard's power is something that Oda had planned for a good while, now. Notice that his fruit has the same name as his laugh (gurararara).......

Yes, but this could very well be the thing that Kuma whispered to Rayleigh back at Sabody. That moment just screamed "foreshadowing!" and this current war is the biggest possible thing that could have been alluded to. Added to that, Kuma is the most trusted Shichibukai, that also has a great spy network (of some kind), so it is entirely possible that Kuma could have known Ace's heritage (which he is not seen wondering about in the previous chapter) so he decided to give the info to Rayleigh (who may or may not give it to other former Roger nakama).

Like Marvelb said though, Silvers and Shanks really don't have a reason to come..But then again James makes a good point, with Kuma whispering schemes into Silvers ear, who knows. So I think it's best to believe the doors of hell are open to everybody.

Because I don't see any. Until Sengoku and Akainu's powers are revealed, the World Government has their hands full. For Rayleigh and Shanks to show up, it would be too much from how I see it.

But then again, I see what you're saying (kind of). Mihawk and Shanks are equals so if Shanks do show may be we can get a taste of what these battles between that "shook all of the grand line" were like. And I also shouldn't underestimate the Vice-Admirals, being as though Garp is a Vice-Admiral and fought evenly with the Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

[Side Note: This makes me a little curious about Kaidou also, like what kind of power he must have to feel confident enough to attack Whitebeard (even if it was from behind)]

Always possible but I find it rather doubtful when he even had to confirm with Nami whether Ace was Luffy's brother or not. Makes me think he didn't knew about Ace's background at all though Whitebeard figured it out and the WG so it's perfectly possible.

Probably just a bit late cause the gates seemed to open more or less simultanious as when WB made his appearance. Comming late always leaves an impression.

How can you want Luffy to sit this out? I could understand that you think this war just seems to high lvl for Luffy to participate in but this is Luffy we're talking about. Our cool protagonist that I expect/hope to do something extra-ordinary which will stun the world yet again. Can't wait to see what it'll be even if it doesn't tip the war in WB's favor.

Whitebeard's a dead man walking, Showing off his power like that so recklessly. I'm still holding out that Civil War Buddha has plan. He has to have some trick, knowing that Whitebeared would be coming.

I gotta say though, I am impressed with WB's immense power.
