Attack on Titan - Spoilers & Speculation (for experienced Titan Attackers only)

Nah. Just think about the recent episode. Why would they swarm a building filled with humans rather than the nearby walls? They really are attracted to humans only.

I have a few assumptions I'd like a yes or no on from someone who has read the manga, and this seemed like the thread to do it in. If I'm wrong, no further explanation is required and I'll wait to find out in the anime, but if I'm right, I wanna pat myself on the back.

If this isn't the right thread, then I'd greatly appreciate if someone could point me to it.

Spoiler for I have done a lot of thinking, let me guess:

First of all, that's obviously Eren who has transformed into a Titan.

His father injected him with something which transformed him, as we saw in a flashback at one point in the second episode.

I'm sure that in the basement of their old house is all of his father's research into that very thing, as in the very first episode he was going to show Eren what was in the basement right after he learned of Eren's desire to kill the titans.

I'm also guessing that the walls were actually built by Titans long ago. I just don't see how humanity could have built them considering:

1. They were being so violently slaughtered all the time, when would they be able to build it?
2. I have not seen a single bit of their current technology that would even indicate that they could build those walls in the first place, the most advanced stuff I've seen being their zip-line tools.

Also, I'm guessing we'll discover that humanity is actually the ones who created the Titans, as there is so much mystery around where they came from I'm guessing they were built to be tools of war, and the world the humans live in now is actually post-apocalyptic or something. Which would mean that all Titans are/were actually humans once.

How am I doing so far?

Same eye color and voice didn't help...but it was unavoidable as it IS an anime.

Meh, it's their loss if they let it make them hate the series. I know some people will be unhappy and see it as deus ex machina, but it's not just some half ass thing the writer is pulling because he's a bad and doesn't know what else to do. The whole hybrid human/titan thing is actually really important to the entire plot. It's not just about big bad guys vs. humans. It's more complicated than that. If they don't want hang on and see how it unfolds that's just a shame.

Poor Eren always getting hated on by anime viewers. One would hope with time that will lessen, but who knows. And soon he will be hated on by the humans in the series when he pops out of that titan's neck. It's so aggravating the way he gets treated. Will be annoying seeing that in the anime too. >_<

Actually that's how I reacted when reading the manga and almost hated Eren because of it. And then I found out he wasn't just the only one.... At least I felt better about him now. It's a good thing I'm okay with reading spoilers.

If you're impatient, go read the manga. I've been reading it for a couple of years so I unfortunately can't be spoiled but still, you have to decide whether or not you'll be spoiled by reading the manga(which is better than getting the answers outright) or wait as the truly major spoilers (that some asshats keep trying to hint at in the anime thread) won't happen in the 26ish episodes for this season. It would be at about episode 50ish if anything

Eren gets hated by the anime viewers because of

1) they screwed up with the scene with him and armin in ep 3 or so. ..that scene was not in the manga and really out of character
2)Eren is not an attractive female(people WILL deny this it's best to just ignore them and move on)
3)Eren is "weak" i.e. NOT a gary stu. . . anime view's see misaka as a mary sue but believe that's ok and because of #2 they actually WANT her to be a mary sue (but she is not, as you can see in ep 7)

#2 is really important, a LOT of people will defend a character to the death, just because its a female that looks attractive/moe/whatever, she could be kyuubey in disguise, they don't care. There's nothing you can do about this, as those people are living out their fantasies believing that female character's love for the male MC is love for that particular viewer as well. It happens all the time, to the point where many people totally miss the point of the show.

It's best to ignore people like that, You can't have a decent discussion with those folks, and it ends up being a shouting match over something that they can't prove, have evidence stacked against them but yet they still persist. . .like creationists, or the "ZOMG Y U NOT KILL TITANS WITH ARROWS" guy(there were many posters who pointed out why through going through what the anime had already said, but yet he still persisted.).

Just continue the conversation with people who are wiling to listen and take the facts that they might have missed and understand what your point is.

I know its hard to do on an anime forum, but that's the only way to keep your sanity.

Speculation at the moment. but The way its going, They probably will. Although for a long stretch after an episode 26 would air in the story, the Author kinda loses the spark for a bit there, only to regain it later on in the story, once he figured out where he was going with the plot.

He's still doing Leagues better than the guy who did the Claymore manga*shudders*

but if they end the last ep off at the right place, they pretty much have guaranteed themselves jobs on this project above and beyond 50 episodes.

Most probably speculation. But I think they'd probably make 50 episodes or so. I mean, it just can't end with 25 episodes with the kind of popularity it has now. 50-60 episodes is the best deal for this type of anime. They at least need to reveal to us the spoilerific trio not just one.

As for the haters, I'd already seen people who claims that "there's no urgency nor tension now that they have a titan with him. HUMANITY IS SAVED! THIS IS JUST ANOTHER SHITTY SHONEN!"
