That's because Windows' icon cache sucks. You should try rebuilding it, but I honestly can't remember how to do it.

Okay, I've got a question for you guys: How do I get the VLC media player to automatically play subtitles? Some media formats I have to select them, but that gets annoying. Is there any way I can get it to do that? I looked in perferences but I don't wanna mess with anything for fear of screwing something up. Thanks in advance.

I always thought it means Hayate the Combat butler.

Look at synonym

I do not think so. "Hayate" as a general noun means a gustwind. It is written in kanji as 疾風
The idiom 疾風の如く [hayate no gotoku] usually signifies "swift and powerful like a storm". The character's name is taken from the general noun, similarly as in Lyrical Nanoha, so the title has double-meaning: Hayate, the protagonist, acts vigorously like a storm [hayate].

In this case the term has gained additional meaning. The title is tradionally granted to the Heir Apparent to the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom.

Wiki, Prince of Wales

How odd, LiberLibri has edited out the above question from his post

Ah, thanks very much.
I wrote the question but I thought I should have tried to study by myself. Anyway, thanks again!

I don't have the VLC player, I'm using the MPC and subtitles are automatically on but maybe its because of the subtitle codec I'm using.
Try one of these :
FLV-Media
ffdshow

I've got both installed because sometimes one of them doesen't work properly.
And make sure that you have the latest stable version.

This is a question that should be in the Playback Forum, but I believe the answer is that VLC has somewhat limited support for ASS/SSA subtitles. These are the "soft" subs that are common in modern anime files in the Matroksa container. The usual answer is to use a different player like the ones in CCCP. Another alternative is smplayer, which uses the mplayer program as its engine.

Silly question 2 ,

Disgaea 2 the sequal, Does it follow the story line of first one ? Or it has a diffrent story?
The Dragon Quest games are all different from what I've played. Some of them have spin offs and sub games like Final Fantasy, however.

Disgaea two does have some of the characters from the 1st, and it does follow the storyline in way.

You can always ask people directly on their profiles.

Though, I personally believe that a casual approach is much better for this sort of things; That is, you make a few posts in some threads, you let people get to know you a bit, you start to get to know them a bit and then you ask them.

At the very least, that's what I did when I was new member here.

(Btw, we didn't have friends lists back then, but I sure got myself many friends like this. )

^ and newbie better take heed those advice well.. I've rejected so many friend request from junior members countless times because I dont think I dont know them well enough to judge them.. Make yourself heard and seen .. hang around a while in the thread the peoples you interest to befriend with, then ask for friendship request.. We are definitely more likely to accept your request.. I mean, you dont jump and gives a kiss to anyone you meet.. you mingle around them, make them confortable, then maybe they accept your peck on the their cheek

I have a question, maybe it's silly, maybe it isn't. XD And maybe I'm posting this is the wrong place, haha for my lack of navigation. XD

I read the rules for the most part, but is there any posting rule on "thread revival?" Such as, if a thread is like... two, three, plus months old, am I allowed to post in it? Just wondering, seeing as some other forums I attend have like a "don't post in a thread over a month old rule." Thanks! :D

You are allowed to post in a old threads, actually encouraged, if it covers the topic you are about to post about.

I think the policy is, "You are able to revive an old thread as long as it have a useful purpose." And it happen all the times in general anime anyways.

EDIT: Stolen by Cats
