The show has good atmosphere and buildup...right up to the moment the character is killed I am on the edge of my seat & then they ruin it with the excessive blood which just looks so fake to me (sigh).

Anyways I like the show but I am really hoping there is more to it than some final destination type story.

Also please someone just tell the poor boy what's going on!

Oh look, it's the house of the OP I also wonder if the characters aren't inside that house in the ED.

There's an umbrella we know what that foreshadowed

Was the elevator supposed to foreshaddow the death in ep4 or is there something on the 7th floor?

Was a crime commited here ?Was the crime scene burned down ?

Is this the murder weapon or does it forshadow a future death?

Is this blood or ketchup?

Is there valuable info recorded on this cassette or in that bag

Is that Mei on that nice boat?

I'm pretty sure this is Mei

And darn it what the hell is up with that darn bird?

I think the over the top deaths are a flaw in the storytelling. They're so implausible that they pretty much have to be the result of something supernatural. So there's no suspense about whether the curse exists (and has supernatural origins) or not.

I wonder if the nurse's brother will find out that his sister was communicating with our poor, ignorant lead right up to her gruesome death. I'm curious to see what his reaction will be...

I think it's pretty clear that there's a curse. I don't think there's a need to pretend that there isn't. The question is not "is there a curse?", the question is "why is there a curse and how does it work?".

That still has me intrigued,the curse is only supposed to kill one person per month right?

If I wanted to deny the obvious and uphold the inane I could say that the real victim of the curse was the mom and the umbrella is just a freak accident

My theory is one family pair per month. Mom and daughter, Sister and brother. I used glasses girl's death as basis.

Something tells me that the class of the original Mei includes the mom and the nurse. If so then it makes sense that the curse might include the former class and any member of their family who are currently in the same class.

She could have been lying, just to escape the curse.

They never said in the anime that it was limited to one person only. It was at least one person connected to the class dies every month, basically it could be dozens of people or just one.

Doesn't matter where the nurse went to school, her brother is in class 3.

You can't escape a curse by lying. If she was in the class, she would do what Kouichi's aunt is doing right now, avoiding the issue.

And the name of the original victim is only known as "Misaki" so far. I'm betting Mei is at risk just like the class or she wouldn't be dodging the issue also. That also would infer that Mei is alive.

Looking at the screenshots totoum posted, some of them seem to coincide with a certain few scenes in the OP. Like that butcher knife; I'm absolutely sure I saw it in the opening. I guess I'll add to my theory tomorrow.

Thanks for the clarification on that.

What's weird is that Mei didn't seem to avoid the issue before,she also doesn't really seem scared.But then again I have no idea what's going on inside her head.

That doesn't mean much. She is also reflected in the mirror but since this is a somewhat supernatural anime she might as well be dead.
