Personally, my new worry is whether or not the GC hate doors will ever be closed. This first arc has opened up a flood of haters that you'd be hard pressed to change their minds. Even myself, despite the fact that I like this episode, there were a few things that I would have overlooked before, but now I see as stupid.

Thinking about it ,this would also explains why it was why Gai wanted to be Shu to have the power of the king wan (that is, from what I understand that was part of his plan). |

Good idea. Anyways, how do you see the preview for the next episode on the Funimation website? I can't seem to find it, which is weird, considering how the last preview was easy to find.

He did seem prepared to die at the end there. Can't think he predicted Shu would be able to come up with that kind of weapon. Seemed ready to die while possibly giving Shu an out to returning to his normal life. May take me a while to not have my doubts, but I'll buy into it for now. In the end they got through it in one piece. Kenji may have been continuing his taunting, but for now I think Shu is safe from personally killing people. Can argue that he did kill the people when he used that reflective void, but if no one fired they would have been fine so can somewhat get around it. So far he's just had to fight mechs with remote pilots and a giant satellite, so has been alright there. Some interesting stuff near the end though. That girl coming into things again and giving Shu the power needed to shoot down both satellites. He didn't really pull that void out, it was sent out to him.

The only problem for episode 6 that really bugging for me, is GHQ soldier didn't trained well.
In Core entrence, they shot Gai but missed around his foot. Endlave piloted by Daryl, shot missed everywhere. What?! Was Endlave using 9 mm bullet? This is really dumb plot armor. |

Wonder how Gai survived that when everything around him is blown up, maybe he has some power. Nice to see that Gai is actually human and sometimes can't take it all. So the pendant is important to Gai, maybe someone gave it to him.
Inori dual-wielding was awesome. Kenji was funny the way he was ready for his void to be taken. Lol Daryl still sucks. Gai was awesome again when he took him out. Not surprised Gai knew about the pen, but interesting that it was the firing switch for the Leucocyte. So not only can SHu pull out more than 1 void at a time, apparently he can merge them. Or at least merge Inori's void with someone else's void. Thought that was pretty cool. Wonder who that girl is that appeared before the voids merged. Maybe its the girl that Gai knew and has a connection to Inori. So GHQ calls Inori Cocytus for some reason. Maybe that's why her void is special. What was up with Segai's eye? Also wonder if the deal was still valid and Shu's data was erased. Interesting that Gai was going to sacrifice himself and help Shu out at the same time.

As per Wikipedia:
Cocytus or Kokytos, meaning "the river of wailing" (from the Greek Κωκυτός, "lamentation"), is a river in the underworld in Greek mythology. Cocytus flows into the river Acheron, across which dwells the underworld, the mythological abode of the dead. Totally not foreboding in the least... |

I kinda like the anime, but I hate almost every single character. I don't even understand how they did it, there's IMO absolutely no characters who are loveable. All of them are socially awkward to the point of retardedness, total jerks, have serious issues, or just are one of the "bad" or "negative" achetypical characters. Even the protagonist is hard to like, I mean, yeah, he's socially awkward, but he doesn't make much sense. Sometimes, he's a spineless coward while other times he just charges in head first, he hates everybody he doesn't understand, and he believes all the wrong people. Shu seems more like an anti-hero than a protagonist to me.
I'm starting to think that I keep watching it because I don't fully understand it yet, and it just has this "feel" to it that I like, even when I hate all the characters. Will be interesting how things work out, I hope the main characters change a bit over the course of the anime, they all seem really stubborn and quite frankly, stupid. But, that's just my opinion so far, it will probably change as I watch more episodes in the future. |

Yeah, this show definitely has the sensibilities of an American comic book, and boy, did Episode 6 ever put that on display in flying colors.
There's certain elements to Guilty Crown that viewers will probably just have to roll with in order to get the most out of it that can be had... but if you do roll with those elements, it's an extremely fun watch, imo. I wouldn't say that you need to turn off your brain entirely, but you probably do need to ignore things like the Laws of Physics, while also tolerating wild plot twists and allowing the occasional asspull to slide (while in turn perhaps hoping they later get explained, which is possible). Anyway, with that out of the way, I thoroughly enjoyed Episode 6. The "explosive action" fan in me couldn't have been much happier with it. Lots of marvelous action scenes, great BGM to accentuate it with, and lots of wild twists and turns (which I personally am fond of). I mostly liked how Gai's character was further developed in this episode, and I think that Shu is slowly rounding into shape. Daryl Yan is a villain impossible to take seriously, I'll admit, but Major Segai has been a great villain so far, imo. He adds some nice intrigue to everything, with how it's increasingly clear that he has his own personal hidden agenda, and thus is playing both sides against each other. Trying to figure out what his real goals are could prove interesting. Anyway, I think I'll give 8.5/10 for this episode. There is a lot you can nitpick about it (and I'm fully prepared to see other viewers do that on this thread ), but I liked it a lot.

Honestly, if Inori is submissive, then what does that make Shu? Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of tension worth carrying over at least as far as the next episode or so, what with her claiming she was just using him at Gai's urging?
Spoiler for The Rebellion of Shu:
Episode six really indicates to me that they know where they're going with this stuff, and that gives me a lot of hope for the future of the series. Having said that, exactly how many of those kill-sats are there? More importantly, if you ever found yourself in a position where, let's just say for the sake of argument, you were holding a super laser Ginsu buster sword of space-death, would you not consider perhaps having Tsugumi point you in the general direction of a few more of those troublesome crater-factories before you put the thing back into the hammerspace between your girlfriend's yabbos? Just sayin'. Shu really is the only one powerful enough to seriously challenge GHQ. He tends to embarrass FP/UT whenever he steps in and just curb stomps everything. They're all very cool, and everything, but I'm starting to wonder how they ever got by without him. But who am I fooling? We all know I'll be watching next week with a big dumb grin on my face, like I always do. Because GC is just freaking fun. |

Other things from the episode: * The Leukocytes' orbit are in the figure 8 (how can they get an orbit like that?!), and pass over Australia and Indonesia even more than Japan. Australia must be a powerful player in the GHQ if they have no problems with that. *Apparently the rear of an Enclave's head and neck are poorly armored enough for a handgun to disable it. Crazy blond guy gets shown up yet again. * What's up with the signals in the city shutting down when the Leukocyte controller was damaged? Does the controller broadcast on the same frequency as standard TV and radio, or was the GHQ trying to prevent people from knowing about their impending doom? * Once again, Inori demonstrates that she can't be a normal human.

Actually, I think Inori does like Shu, or at least feels interest in and sympathy for him. Maybe telling him to get away was like protecting him from getting hurt, because she either can't or won't be his significant other. Certainly she won't be if he wants to take her away from Gai, her benefactor, the person who gave the clone/android/virus-survivor a name. And Shu is totally into her, of course. Did Gai just use her to get him back? Partly, I think. But his "confession" seemed honest to me. We shall see.

From what I understood from the scene, the falling satellite created a magnetic interference, which caused the channels to be disrupted. Once it was destroyed, the stations came back online.
