Hmm...It's pretty good as a spinoff. Story feel like a twisted and darker version of Railgun.

Characters have great interaction with each other. I like how Mugino and Takitsubo are presented in this title. Mugino actually care about her teammates and use her power smartly. Takitsubo acts as emotional support for everyone and she can even directly argue or disagree with Mugino sometime. New girl are funny.

EDITED: Finished thevolume. Man, It's good to read a story where everything down on earth unlike what happened in main series right now. Final Battle between Mugino and Kaede is great.

That section where Frenda and Fremia were talking using their "In the beginning" and "In the end" back and forth is gold.

Novel is complete. What makes this novel really interesting is that you can see how the events here will kind of shape how ITEM ended up the way they did in the end, particularly Takitsubo.
