Theres a lot of information flying around about the last 3 episodes. If all is true it seem like the ending will be very boring. Shziuma and Nagisa seem to have an open ending if its true that Nagisa did not give Shizuma an answer. I think all we can do now is wait and see. After this is over im looking more foward to the Summer Arc of Maria-sama ga Miteru and the second season of Emma.


Anyone have anymore info about what was apprently said between Shizuma and Nagisa? im going to go do snooping right now.

Please!! I know Strawberry Panic was pretty generic, cut and dry, but I was at least hoping it wouldn't include such obvious cliches. If what you are saying is true, this show falls from tolerable to just plain bad.

So, I actually watched the show. Somehow, they made Amane even lamer than she already was. We should give credit to the Studio. It's been a long time since I've seen somebody drop the ball on a character like they did w/Amane.

And really I'm growing out of my patience for Nagisa x Shizuma. How can Shizuma calmly train Nagisa and Tamao? Is she sacrificing her love for the sake of the school? Please don't. Also it seems weird that Miyuki told those two not to tell anyone about their training. Why is that? Could it be that Miyuki heard the news about Amane so she secretly train these two girls? So that she got a better chance to complete her last mission? I wish that Miyuki do this for some important reason But cannot be eh?

Apart from that, Nagisa and Tamao dancing is awkward Probably same height thing. Chikaru is Strawberry Panic's angel doesn't see. I loved her eversince episode 8. She's fun and funny. Now she even motivates Hikari and Nagisa Each time I see Yaya I wanna blow the studio off. Two episodes left and she's not with Tsubomi yet?

Overall I'm scared that there will be NO Shizuma x Nagisa in the end. I want them to become Etoile and love happily ever after. That's why I love fairy tale *sigh*

Technically speaking, Amane is supposed to be the most popular person next to Shizuma among the schools. Also, Shizuma thought she should be the successor. She is the only candidate who is generally accepted because of her popularity and ability, which means the result of the selection was quite predictable. It was safe to say, "According to the current situation, Amane is the next Etolie. Period." Thus, the script writers needed to give the story a new twist to make it unpredictable and more dramatic.

Though I understand the reason for it, I personally think they did it a bit too much and it was rather awkward. But there is one interesting thing to me. Since the relationship between Kaname and Momomi had been broken before Amane had the fall from the horse, Spica now has a very difficult problem. If Amane had fallen earlier, the pair would have taken part in the selection. But it was too late. The preview of episode 25 hinted that you'll know what Shion (the president of Spica's student council) has been thinking.

It's understandable if they wanted to make it more unpredictable so they can drive us crazy to buy the DVDs, but..

Man, I LOVED that scene, where Amane woke up with Hikari's tear drop. I mean, this is the WORST cliche ever in all anime I've watched! And it was so BAD that it's AWESOME! I can't stop banging my head to my desk, laughing like a maniac..
And what is Amane/Hikari pairing without some Yaya angst for the spice? Her emo sequence really touching... Yet amusing at same time.

Overall, although this episode adds anxiousity of the ending for me, it's still highly entertaining.

In ep 24 she said something like "You have to become Etoile."

The fast trans I did about the summary of ep 24 is easy to understand now, but picking the first option that came in my head turned out quite totally wrong. It's Miyuki who requested Shizuma to assist with the special training of the two, and when Nagisa asks Tamao about why Etoile is a pair and not alone ("because life is meant to be lived with another" or smth.) Shizuma overhears it and decides to train them as her final Etoile duty.

I find it quite apalling that the studio is wasting so much time a/Amane. It's like they're purposely trying to ruin her character. Usually when something is so bad that's it's actually funny or even good in a certain way. Not so w/Strawberry. They actually expect us to take this crap seriously. I'm severely disappointed w/how little they're putting into the series. I wonder what Japans reactions are.

And thie Shizuma x Nagisa thing is beyond repair. Although, I'm somewhat surprised at how nonchalantly Shizuma is training those two. Still, I'm expecting at least a bit of angst and realizations that will ultimately pair these two together, much to my dismay. =\

Chikaru, Tamao, Yaya and so many other characters were severely nerfed in this poorly scripted anime.

I guess Maria-sama ga Miteru is STILL my favourite shoujo ai series.

If they are completely hopeless, she should choose a better pair instead or Miator's withdrawal from the selection as a worst-case scenario. If she wanted to avoid letting others know such retraction, which should be a shame, she had to keep Tamao and Nagisa's nomination secret until everything is firmly decided. But... I have a feeling that this may be a superficial analysis.

Both Tamao and Nagisa repeatedly showed us them wondering what made Miyuki choose them and why she was that stern. Even the background music changed when they were talking about it. Obviously, there should be something. Miyuki seems to have an unshakable belief that they must become Etoile. They? Who? I wrote in a previous post that Shizuma is going to graduate school soon, therefor she cannot be the next Etoile. But I know Chiyo murmured, "even if you (Nagisa) become Etoile together with Shizuma-sama, please keep being my onee-sama" (Episode 11 "Meteor Shower"). Was that just a misconception and did Chiyo happen to forget Shizuma's forthcoming graduation? Or Nagisa could become temporal Etoile with Shizuma during Shizuma's term but the time is already up? Or would it be possible for Shizuma to be one of the next Etoile? And Miyuki hid the nomination list from public because one of the names on it was to be rewritten? It is, however, too cruel to accept.

Aside from what Chiyo said and the possibility of Shizuma's reappointment, what if Tamao and Nagisa become Etoile? Nagisa was kind of a Shizuma's follower, not an equal partner. But when Nagisa is Etoile and Shizuma is ex-Etoile, you can say they're now in the same rank. Of course such titles mean nothing to their relationship, but Miyuki might be trying to bring up Nagisa to be suitable to Shizuma. Oh, what an idea! Where should Tamao go then? As a Tamao-Nagisa pair supporter, I have to say what I have written above is nothing but a mixture of supposition. <sigh>

Wow, that was excellent. However, I seriously doubt all that was in store. Strawberry Panic isn't nearly as deep as you are. But still, great food for thought.

I think becoming Etoile can be considered the first step to a real relationship myself. Kind of like the Souer system in Maria-sama, I think the idea of having a second for Etoile means you must show great trust and care for that individual. Now, please note that I said it's the first step to a relationship, and not necassarily a relationship to begin with. If Tamao-chan and Nagisa become Etoile, Shizuma graduates (and leaves!), Amane and Hikari die, the rest can be left to imagination, really. I'd be content w/that outcome.

As for why Miyuki wants students from Miatre to become Etoile, it might have something to do w/school pride and/or legacy. Who knows.

Possibly you haven't noticed, but Strawberry Panic contains a lot of metaphoric and symbolic descriptions. What someone said in the earlier episode is indirectly revoiced by someone else in the later episode, which makes a fugue.
