Two ideas that came up:

1. Maxie boy traveling all over the world to improve himself in order to avenge his mother's death. He heads to some far eastern country to practice martial arts (Not sure how to go from here), but does something illegal (Same here too) and flees. In revenge, the clan of warriors go after Maximilian in order to kill him as his punishment. The said clan encounters Squad 7 and offers an alliance to defeat a common enemy.

2. Selvaria longs to be reunited with a man who was once a fellow captive like her to conduct research on Valkyria powers. Unknown to her, the man is an amnesiac who has forgotten everything about her after wandering to Gallian territory as a young boy and becomes a ward of the state. He is deployed into battle as an officer in the Gallian Gendarmerie. (Hey, cut me some slack here for Gallian security forces).

How about a fanfic that stars Ellet? I haven't seen anyone use her as a main character yet.

In my story, Ellet would uncover evidence of an Imperial spy ring working in Randgriz. Hoping to make a big scoop, Ellet tries to uncover proof of the spy ring. One false move, however, and such a mission could be the death of her!

Think that might be a good one?

Commander: Louise Bathory (2LT, LT, CPT after the Gallian war)
Age: 23
Height: 178cm
Weigh: 55kg

Hails from an Imperial noble family on her mother's side. Father is a commoner. Cool under fire, and somewhat ambitious, Louise is determined to serve the Empire, and prove that there are still good men within the Empire. Gracious, but never bowing to unwarranted pressure, there is little in her appearance to suggest steely nerves, save maybe for her slightly toned body.

2IC: Daniel Synder (Sgt)
Age: 28
Height: 181cm
Weight: 68kg

The long-suffering 2IC of a remote Imperial outpost bordering the Federation. Plays babysitter to his men before Louise's arrival. At first regards his new commander as more of the old. However, was the first to accept her leadership. Despite his efforts at shaving, he never seems to be able to get rid of his 5 o'clock shadow.

Sniper 1: Mark Picker (CPL)
Age: 20
Height: 168cm
Weight: 58kg

Snarky and sarcastic, Mark conceals a loyal friend beneath his rough exterior. Slow to warm, as Louise found out only too well, but once he's your buddy, you can count on him. Comes from a line of hunters, but doesn't really enjoy killing animals. During the war, he crosses Marina's path several times...

Sniper 2: Marie
Age: 21
Height: 165 cm
Weight: 50kg

Darscen. Marie is soft-spoken, due to her people's oppression. Before Louise's arrival, she manages to keep her heritage a secret. Kind-hearted, yet slightly bitter, she joins the Imperial army to support her family. Once her identity becomes known, Mark shuns her. However, during a confrontation with Squad 7's snipers, Marie ends up helping Mark...

Scout 1: Luthor Dumas
Age: 22
Height: 175cm
Weight: 70kg

Loves the outdoors and has the body to prove it. Family runs a pet shop back home. Talkative, but wise, Luthor acts as Mark's brake once he feels that his friend had gone overboard. Was the first in his trio to recognise Louise's command.

Spoiler for Got a bigger, better idea for a story:

Maxie boy travels around the world to find ways to help secure his position on the Imperial throne and eliminate those responsible for the death of his mother. He joins up with a secretive clan (whatever you want to put here. I can't help but put ninjas) to learn of their history and traditions in order to figure out if he can use their artifacts to avenge his mother's death.

After leaving the said clan back to the Imperial Alliance due to the stealing of a certain artifact, the grandmaster sending a group of warriors to pursue him and kill him as punishment. Maximilian officially activates a group of deep penetration agents of the Imperial Alliance's Special Intelligence Headquarters to undermine Gallia from within (and do what deep cover agents do...). Ellet catches rumors of this and investigates while SIH agents in Gallia's Gallian Security Directorate act to undermine it from within aside from the government.

Selvaria, meanwhile, has been acting on her own for the past few months covertly in order to search for someone who she had known after he had saved her life during her time as a captive with him in an unknown research center in Europa in their middle/late teens to research on the dormant powers of the Valkyria. During a secret raid conducted by Imperial special forces, Selvaria was rescued and was reared up by Maximilian personally. However, she was not able to rescue the man who had saved her life in the past from being abused by Valkryia research scientists several times.

While she continues to regret her failure for not being saving him, the man (now 20) had been an amnesiac and was found by Gallian border guards after he lost consciousness at the Imperial/Gallian border near the outskirts of Bruhl when he made his escape. Here, the man was declared to be a ward of the state. He was given an education by the state and after graduating from high school and to 1st year university, volunteers to enter the Gendarmerie. He is eventually promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant due to his hard work and education.

In the course of EWII, the covertly deployed warriors from the Far East offer to work with Squad 7 in order to defeat a common enemy.

Not sure if that amalgamation is okay. Perhaps it needs a few more tweaks. Suggestions are, of course, welcomed.

Or even, how about a dark Selvaria/Welkin story? I certainly would like to see that.

I have another idea for a comedy fanfic if anyone wants to try it. It wouldn't be too long, though it stars Squad Seven's mascot, Hans!

Spoiler for Enter Hans, Private Third Class!:

This little story would be from the POV of the porcavian Hans, and would show his interactions with the members of Squad Seven. Read on as he gets into all kinds of mischief! (the plot is mostly up to you)

It'd have to be a story for comic value, and Hans has to be a semi-silent protagonist (minus the occasional "moink" sound). Also, DO NOT do something like making him able to talk or do anything a little porcavian can't normally do. That'd just ruin things.

Think along the lines of, say, "Marley and Me".

Hm, Runty might be on to something with that espionage-oriented idea. As an aid in getting the procedurals down, multiple Clancy novels should help; 'Red Rabbit' and 'The Bear and the Dragon' come readily to mind, with 'Without Remorse' being more about, ah, wetwork.

I'm with you on wanting to see how such an evolution could be arranged.
That said, I've been kicking around a couple of ideas with a colleague of mine, and thought it would be interesting to see what you chaps think...

• Rat Patrol - what if Squad 7 was organized as a skirmish force? That is, using a combination of armed jeeps/buggies and ATVs (if they have motorcycles, those shouldn't be too far a leap) to harass Imperial colums and encampments with hit-and-fade attacks? Anyone who's seen the eponymous 60s TV series, or read Clancy's 'Red Storm Rising', should have scant difficulty visualizing how effective/annoying such tactics can be... Of course, those not comfortable with such a remolding can create a unit from whole cloth, what with the Gallian campaign encompassing a lot more than just Welkin and company.
• Z-Axis - might be less a story than a reasoned discussion on how airpower would affect the setting. Among other things, I'm sure the Gallians would love to have analogues of the G-model Stuka (which swaps out its usual bombs for a pair of podded 37mm cannons; this is the signature plane of the Luftwaffe CAS ace Hans-Ulrich Rudel) or P-39 Airacobra (one of the Warthog's spiritual ancestors) on call...

How about an Imperial equivalent of the Enigma encoding machine? With the device, Max was able to coordinate the invasion much better than in the game. When Squad 7 stumbles upon a partially destroyed copy, Isara and her team investigates the device. However, an Imperial squad is determined to finish the job of destroying the encoder...

Crossover between VC and Strike Witches. Oh boy, Isara would have her time exploring the planes, while the SW girls and Squad 7 ham it up. Alicia, for one, doesn't quite like Charlotte's gaze on Welkins...

The Neuroi turns out to be ancient allies of the Valkyrur, and Max soom discovers that apart from her Valkyria powers, Selvaria could be crucial to securing alien help not only against Gallia, but for his eventual domination over the Federation. The world is now literally within his grasp.

Much parody material can be generated after condifering the similarities between ragnite and a certain infamous, oft-crystalline substance of non-terrestrial origin. The results of such imagining can range from funny to quite sad...

And how about a crossover with Assassin's Creed while we're at it? Boy, I wish I can wish a VC fic can be done with someone interested in doing a Selvaria/Welkin one.

Thanks; as for that particular relationship, a major challenge is making such a development plausible within canon. Have any ideas fermenting in that vein?

Maybe, but you have to admit the mental image of Maximillian channeling Kane on occasion does come rather easily, does it not? A word of advice to anyone considering this fusion: playing it 'straight' makes for among other things a sad Welkin.
By the way, most forms of the Mammoth (excluding the Mk. 2 version seen only in Tiberium Sun) look like something Maximillian would not mind having among his armored forces.

I see no conceptual reason why not; the only major difference would be that the Marmot would be harder to field safely, requiring air superiority at the very least... its size and sensor profile would make it a sitting duck for air strikes and assorted BVR unpleasantness (cruise missiles, artillery, et cetera). Of course, I imagine the Gallian airbases would be rather high up on the target list in the operation's opening acts in any case.
Just for the sake of being different, Edelweiss in this particular AU might be modeled after the Israeli Merkava MBT...
And damnit, now you have me imagining how well the CANVAS graphics engine could be mated to Modern Warfare 2 mechanics. As if seeing the force-management similarities between VC and EndWar wasn't enough.

You can play this one of two ways: weave the Templar/Assassins shadow war into the background of VC, or adapt elements of Assassin's Creed into a VC story focusing on espionage/black-ops.

Yeah. For the modern-era style VC, Gallia could have a mix of Swiss/Western weapons and equipment while the Imperial Alliance has modern Russian equipment.

As for how Selvaria/Welkin can go, one way IMO is for Selvaria to be adopted earlier by Belgen since she "was" freed from the secret Imperial research center.

Another would be... well for Selvaria to get really interested in Welkin. Not sure how it can go from there.

I get the feel that Isara might create the tank out of the Edelweiss first. And yes, Welkins will despair at the ecological damage Tiberium does.

Took a look at the Rat Patrol series. Pretty interesting. In that case, the Edelweiss can't be used with S7 since they're going to be like the British LRDGs during World War II.
