I had to vent my hysteria/hyper mode in some way or another, so I made a blog article on it

Well, for those who are a bit curious, I also explained where we ended up with our flagship group name.

Haha, really awesome news!
It's rare to have the creator actually respond, and he even made a referance. That's really great!

If your installer got all glitchy, just copy the files directly from the CD to the installation folder (as the game CD doesn't have a modified structure compared to the installed game).
You must be sure that all of the file names are either in english or in japanese (original name only), no gibberish allowed (and be sure the size of your installed game is roughly the same from the CD itself).
Etto... I copied all the files from the cd to the installation folder and placed the patch, but the entry menu is blocked and i only hear the seagulls (when the seagulls cry, there are no survivors). Then I installed the game again changing the name to all files and then placing again their respective name in japanese but... still i cant play the ending of ep2...

I don't understand at all how you actually installed your game.
It would be far more convenient if you make several screenshots of your actual installation.

First, do you actually use japanese locale? Also, does the original game (not the patch one) works properly?

Somewhat... it is in ep2 ( in the menu ) and when i unlock ep3, everything freezes and closes itself.

EDIT: how do I post the images?

Reading the sticky thread of the game section will avoid you some hardship.
And hearing from what you said, your installation seems extremely whaky... how "big" your game is (I need to know the size and the apparant files you get)? What game (episode N°) you are using?

Also, to post pictures, first host them on imageshack and copy the thumbnail code you will receive here.

Simply copying/pasting the files from the CD won't work, a few need to be moved from there to specific locations:

All the folders you see there are right in the root of the CD drive, and the (non-folder) files shown are inside one of the folders alongside BGM, movie, etc.

So when the last half of the Vol. 3 patch is released, will a compatible patch for Vol. 4 be avaliable as well?

That's we are actually planning. if it isn't ready, it should be available within the month.
Our current issue right now is the Music Box of Episode 4 that simply crashes the game without any warning.

I read the message on your blog while avoiding the episode 4 spoiler (for those who wish to do the same, he clearly says when he's about to mention it).

He sounds very welcoming! Congratulations guys. You're doing great.

Just a small tech question.
I tried running Umineko on macintosh (with the different ONScripter of course)
Macbook (OSX 10.4.11) can run the game fine.
But on an iBook G4 I couldn't get the music to work (gives me static). I imagine it's likely the hardware difference. But any ideas?

I don't know much about Macs, but it might have something to do with the onscripter...I used the one here and it worked fine on my iBook

Okay... I just recently finished Episode 2 for Umineko, and now I'm looking to purchase Episode 4, however it seems that both Himeyashop and Paletweb are sold out... I couldn't find anything on Ebay either...

Are there any other import sites that would sell a doujin game like Umineko?

On another note, congratulations to The Witch Hunt for getting Ryukishi07's acknowledgment and support, and I wish all of you good luck in translating future Episodes for Umineko! ^^

For paletweb and himeya shop you gotta request the item. Just because its out of stock doesn't mean you can't get it. Request the item and information shall be given
