Time ago we concluded that the most plausible theory behind that mystery was that they were part of a snake race with the purpose of invading Mid-Childa. The snakes infiltrate in Mid-Childa's society copying humans' appearances to gather information, but their skills are not perfect, that's why there are slight errors in proportions and colors sometimes.

The Nanoha/Fate/Vivio one was perfect, very beautiful and Awwwww-inducing ^^

(BTW, I think we never concluded where was Fate's right hand here)

I can't blame you, Nanoha in this picture looks more like Kana from Minami-ke than real Nanoha
