That was a quick thinking what Mizuho did. He knew that Takako will scream when her clothes were accidentally ripped. So to prevent her from screaming, he gave her a kiss...well...almost a kiss. Still, their lips touched but not completely as what you would see in a kiss. Of course, the crowd went crazy on that scene. What's really interesting is Mariya saw it (like I said before). Looks like her feelings for Mizuho is now awakening. Takako, on the otherhand, is falling more in love to Mizuho (points to the part where she breakdown and blush at the end).

I had to bust out laughing when I heard that "Yuri?" violin song again during Mizuho and Mariya's acting scene. Very funny.

This series has become a lot more interesting in the last two episodes.

I agree with you. That was hilarious.
Takako continued to be very moe with her blushing expression.

At first, I was rooting for Shion, but now that she didn't get much screen time and Takako became more and more moe, I have root to root for Takoko.

Episode 10 was great, but it leaves me wondering...

Will the unwritten law of "The First Girl You See in a Harem Anime Gets the Guy" be followed or not? Or will they just chicken out and leave us hanging?

I think that it's more likely that they'll just chicken out and leave us with a vague ending.

We now know that Mariya has finally figured out that the reason she's so angsty is because she loves Mizuho, and is finally willing to admit it to herself. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Takako has some sort of a thing for Mizuho as well. Although in Takako's case, it's downright cruel to lead her on to think that Mizuho is a girl... really... it must confuse the hell out of her, and lead to extra angst... a little "omg, am i one of those yuri people?" spice...

But given all that, we still don't know if Mizuho even has a preference. Yes, he said in episode 6 that he "likes" Takako, but Mizuho being Mizuho, we don't know if he likes her like he wants to get with her, or likes her like he likes pudding. (Mmm.. pudding...)

Since we haven't really been able to see into his head, I'd put my money on them leaving it totally vague and torturing us for the next 6-8 months or so until ep 13 comes out on DVD. So let me be among the first to say, "You bastards!"

One other thing: I think when Takako finds out, it's gonna damn near kill her. Or maybe him. I know if someone I liked suddenly pulled a "Crying Game" on me, I'd probably freak for a second or two, then get really really mad. (Yeah, it's not the same thing, but still...)

At first I watched this show for Mariya, then for Shion, but now it's all about Takako. She's my favorite now. XD

Well there are easier ways of knowing who the ending character might be if it's based off a game, but believe me, you're better off not knowing or the gaming anime you might decide to watch will become much more predictable (MOST of the time - not ALL the time). That just takes away some of the fun.

But yeah...I'd really like to know what's going through Takako's head right now. I'd like to know what she might be feeling conflicted over.

Well, if it's any sort of consolation at all, at least it'll only be 3 1/2 months this time. (Release date for the last DVD is April 4th, 2007.)

Edit: Or maybe it's the 11th of April; the Starchild website has two different dates. But it's around that time anyway.

I would have suggested that the staff started to cover-up Mariya's resolve for Mizuho a little early on, since it would had lead to more momentum and drama development.

Anyways, it looks like the race for Mizuho is now disputed between Mariya and Takako. I suspected Mariya all along since my first post for episode one, that she'll end up forging her heart for Mizuho, and I nailed it right.

I give thanks for not having watched Strawberry Panic, not because I dislike that aforementioned series, but because OtoBoku has everything integrated and balanced: splendid drama; hilarious comedy; though clichéd, all of the characters possess their individual charm that makes me to root for them; from time to time the plot can deliver some better-built cliffhangers like happened in episode 10.

An interesting part about episode 10 is, besides Mizuho, that they showed boys and men attending the school as audience for the festival. It looks like, unlike the three academies in Strawberry Panic, Seiou Academy in OtoBoku is not off limits to the members of the opposite sex; not forgetting that no male characters, even generic ones, ever appeared in Strawberry Panic.

For the Romeo x Juliet scene, I did feel embarrassed when Takako's dress got tucked on the bed and ripped. I felt ashamed that chose not to watch the scene, until it changed with Mizuho.

It was clever, quick thinking for Mizuho to wrap Takako's exposed in her undewear with the cape. Subsequently, it gave an air of magic dramatism to the climax heightened by Mizuho's kiss.

However, if I paid close attention when Mizuho's lips made contact with Takako's, Mizuho's lips barely reached to make even faint contact. In fact, judging from what I saw, his lips barely Takako's upper lips, thus it was not a full kiss.

Anyway, this episode made me resurface to the thread. As I expected, episode 10 delivered nothing but joy and smiles . Throughout the episode I kept a stupid grin on my face

When I heard about Kana's play where a tree(or fairy on tree) turned to human to see her love one , I didn't thought of the Little Mermaid- I thought of the ero-game それは舞い散る桜のように I am pretty confident it's just me

Mizuho, you sure you are a guy?! Do you really have that extra package under your dress?! (yes, he has) That's just cheating, ambushing two female characters at the same time while maintaining that perfect exterior!

It seems that the anime is really going to have its own combined original ending...Even though most people prefer Shion's route, I think that ending is a bit too...dramatic
Takako's ending, on the other hand, is supposingly very mellow and...happy. This ending sounds like it suits the anime better.

I guess the studio crew didn't botched up the storyline as badly as people believed.

Note: I had the misforturnate of acting in a Romeo and Juliet play...Romeo is supposingly less mature and more hot blooded than Juliet. Seeing how Mizuho "covered all the bases" gives me funny feelings.

the bitching wont stop between mariya and takako even when it seems that it should be a time of neutal understanding...gladly mizuho breaks things up and tries to make a wish ~ takako does the same but doesnt say what her wish is...she looks at mizuho ~ LOL maybe her wish is for mizuho to be a guy ohh boy ~

poor mariya >.< she offered a free kiss and mizuho just blanked her off! grr! but when it came down to the practice acting mizuho seemed soo real that mariya even forgot her lines lol...but the manly look on mizuho's face is indeed stunning ^_^
omgz i really do think that mariya should have a better chance with mizuho T_T i laughed my ass off when she pushed him over and called him ecchi even tho she knows that the kiss was comming ~ oh and that woke ichiko XD
but really its obvious how mariya feels towards mizuho ~

at the play...mariya thinks about how she has treated mizuho lately and feeling sorry leaves the theater and offers her space to one of her friends in exchange to watch the stall (or whatever) ~ or that she cant stand to see mizuho and takako kk...kk...kkii...kkiss!?

well the play itself was great! and the kiss? i can see too well if it was on the lips but considering takako's *sigh* it was probably just on the cheeks
but holy! the second kiss was definatly real and mariya just walked into the shock of her life O.o
most definatly the most beautiful scene ive seen so far ~ it even made my heart skip a beat thinking what mizuho will do next O.o

the ending to this ep is really exciting...so its definatly true that takako now loves mizuho (hence the big reaction afterwards and the chest pains) and now that mariya has confessed in a church...open ended how this will go...

gah i dont know what to think...both girls have their merits so it will be hard to choose...

This is an anime, not real life, so nothing "really" happened. But he had to have covered her lips with his to stifle her cry -- and you can certainly hear that at the beginning of the event. Maybe their lips aren't touching in the images, but they are certainly intertwined in an interesting way in that first shot: his upper and lower lips around her upper lip. It would be hard to get them in that position without actually touching. And as he draws back, her lips close, as if released. So I'm not sure if they really touched, but it is more than a peck on the cheek. It's a lovely, sensual scene, in any case.

Seems like many students were jealous at Kanna because she's so close to Mizuho. Well, if your oneesama is the most beloved, most popular, and the prettiest girl at school...of course that could happen. Anyway, I like how Mizuho stood up for Kanna and even going against Takako about the ribbon thingy regulations.

I guess Mizuho is really reliable since he manage to save the play with his quick thinking skills. That partial kiss seems to cause Takako to fall even more deeply in love to him. Though if I were in her position, I'm thinking that "I can't believe I'm falling in love to another girl"...but, as we know, she hasn't figure out that Mizuho is actually a guy. Also, it seems that Mizuho's comments and opinions really meant a great deal with the other girls *points @ the scene where Mizuho's eating a cake*. Looks like Mizuho's popularity raised even more when he was in the play and "kissed" Takako Go Mizuho!!! Go!!! Aim high

If that happens then this is gonna be yuri and she can't be together forever from either Takako or Mariya. Just a thought though, if it did happen in the game...how on earth can Ichiko turn Mizuho into a real girl with her ghostly powers? Possess him?
