Well, I did once said about I.S.... in feudal japan.
Oddly, the presence of retro-I.S. themselves kept war casualty to very, very minimum. Because by that time, infantry is nothing but obsolete, and alternative warmachine is absent.

But notice that no one has decided that it might be worth risking mutual annihilation for glory. You'd warn that humanity isn't that stupid, but remember it has happened already.
The treaty is written proof that no one should cross that line of insanity and that same little piece of paper gives everyone else an excuse to gang up on the idiot who dares trample on common sentiment. With no treaty, there would be no security at all of mutual interest. If someone makes a move everyone freezes up to see what the other does. It is likely the direct victim reprises but that's war. The idea isn't new at all but watching this kung-fu detective movie set in imperial China was piquing my interest in this. And as opposed to less casualties, it actually got worse in some parts. Infantry would be considered a combat scouting regiment, fodder who were sent in to take over or, if they should fail, measure the strength of the opposing force. The real weapon within the army would be the holders of the silks. |

Yeah, excepting the fact that there have been two blatant violations (Laura's VT system and Silver Gospel), yet nothing came out of it. That treaty is string beans. Nobody even pretends to follow it and no one gets punished when they disobey.

Hmm, well I was talking the glorious portrayal of Basara and the nonlethal nature of Dog Days. So it's definitely different.
However, the one closer to your version is the magical theme, that I.S. are magical creatures turned into suit of armor. There, glory does not exist for ordinary people, all they knew is constant oppression and suffering. Since the feudalism are somewhat more realistic. Both Eras and you are correct about the treaty, so far the countries related are houdinis, simply because the author don't care. I myself try to avert it in TLR Stratos, and subvert it in Sacred Twins. (In both case, gospel are sealed in I.S.A.)

@ Senpai - Deconstructed in Shadow. In the draft I sent you, Irish specifically remarks that they're just doing clean up using deniable assets. Whether they fail their missions or not, the country succeeds. If they fail, they get a scapegoat. If they succeed, then they just git away with illegal experimentation and could probably do it again.
Major reason Irish has sour armor throughout the story compared to the others Shining Armor.

It's odd that when Eras pointed out that there's no point to the story, I suddenly realized a plot in that single moment.
The emperor realizes the power within the ranks of his people. He starts collecting silk users to build up an army for world domination. He starts with Ichika since a young man like Ichika would probably be easy to fool into servitude with a few promises of power. Then it turns sour and he tries to capture Ichika. At some point, Tabane herself, who has become a hermit of unknown local, becomes a target. It becomes somewhat of a quest for Ichika to rise up and stop what could either become the most glorious moment for Japan, or the greatest massacre in history. Ofcourse he meets the girls and forms a resistance of silk users on the way. |

Actually, can you just cut this pic?
http://www.google.com.ph/imgres?q=La...wsMXmDQ&zoom=1 Need it to be more of a rectangle, not a square. Just cut out parts of the left side.
