The limited edition box art looks amazing. Almost tempted to buy it even though I already have a Wii.
Pre-orders have opened up at play-asia if you're interested. I immediately reserved mine as soon as I saw that box

The Last Story developer studio unveiled to be Artoon/AQ Interactive, more on andriasang.com and another session of Iwata Asks, this time with Artoon/AQ Interactive man Takuya Matsumoto.
Artoon's track record of Wii games: FlingSmash (2010) <- buy this now, it is an order! Club Penguin: Game Day! (2010) The World of Golden Eggs (2008) Most people probably know them from games such as Blinx/Blinx2 (xbox), Blue Dragon and Vampire Rain. |

New Iwata Asks column on The Last Story
A summary can be found on anoop's blog, andriasang.com
This time ,questions are asks on the freedom (camera perspective?, random items drops) the game offers, online play and features (chatting function) and the story mode. Overall it looks like a very experimental title, trying to make a japanese developed rpg approachable to a wider audience. In my view it looks like they have taken past western rpgs into consideration, more customisation and real-time combat (but merged with command selection), but keeping feature what makes a jrpg a jrpg. It is only a couple of weeks away till it is release, hopefully it will be a success. |

andriasang.com, or annop, managed to dig out some more info on this game. Article summarises Sakguchi recent tweet on this title. It will have approx. 30h play time, on this first play through, but will vary depending on how many side quest you want to skip/redo/aso. But online mode and other elements(?, new game+?) will keep people continuing playing this game.
Reminder: 27/dec/2010 live presentation and 27/Jan/2011 release date, got mine preordered already ^^. |

Game is completed, as andriasang.com/annop reports.
Live presentation stream in 2 days. If you have a tweet account why not drop Sakaguchi a congratulation message. |

Now the better question is... will it ever come across the pacific? I mean, Xenoblade isn't even here yet lol. Not sure if any publishers willing to risk localizing Wii rpgs, considering there was very few released last year for it.

Just watched the presentation. The game is kind of more than i expected and the clothing customisation shown was what?, you can strip characters into their underwear! And the versus mode seems like real fun, no radar, which is prefect for death matches.
Cannot wait to get it in my hands, 4 weeks to release and 1-2 weeks for shipping from japan. Hopefully i get my 2010 backlog killed by then. Well only NOE and NOA are the options |
