EDIT: Kindred's spotlight is out. Fun stuff, but it's gonna be tough playing a ranged jungler and I reeeeaaally don't like the fact that wolf's mark is naked, any team with a basic level of warding should know exactly where you are. Other than that, they certainly have a lot of potential, but probably won't get the attention they deserve when most players value junglers with CC and overall tankiness.

The matches have been nice so far, FW kite really well and know how to work around their positioning, they got tricked in the first game where they were pretty even, but the second one seems to be in OG's favor for now. Very interesting bot lane with TK/Kalista for OG, they had a good pick phase too.

EDIT: Super-slow games, Niels carried the team so hard in game 4 though...and Peke showed many weaknesses (bad TP calls, constantly running on empty with both Anivia and Orianna, missing out on a lot of TFs, etc.), Soaz got a bit too greedy even when it actually turned out well for him. Amazing and Mithy did a great job as Elise/Morgana, their combined CC just opened up so many plays...but again, Mithy sacrificed tankiness in favor of CDR and mana regen, which cost OG a teamfight.

Anyway, FW played better than expected, NL did tons of damage and Maple dominated his lane in every game. Steak had a few good plays on his Gnar, the last game would have been a lot different if he hadn't opted for that Irelia.

As I suspected, Origen in 4.

Soaz's penta on Darius - dayum....

But Niels was the one who got them through most. Especially in Game 4. The guy has the right mentality, awareness, adaptability.

Concerned that Origen are doing some inefficient use of advantages and that they are prone to some bad pick phases like Game 3. As Niels said, they have to step it up to have any hope against SK Telecom.

All that said, semi-finals within half a year of joining the LCS? I knew they could make Worlds, but top 4 is quite something.

I don't think Irelia was a bad pick for Steak in Game 4. He needed to more than just verse Lulu, though. Irelia is a split pusher and Flash Wolves never did that.

The protect comps are definitely happening over and over for this season's Worlds. Split pushing seems like the best way to be able to go around this. Wonder who will be able to do that or if it will be protect vs protect in the final matches.

Btw, has anyone had any issues getting the new patch to work? Mine keeps failing at 99% every time...

I suck at Kog'maw so my stats are absolute horrible for this long game
The last 35 minutes were like playing a Tower Defense, the Kog'maws were the Towers and the Rek'sai were like a big monster wave.
I was like wave 666(you know what it means if you played TF2 MvM)
The last 40 minutes was a serious stalemate, untill a friend and I nuked down one with our AP ults

I think Fnatic got very lucky in game 2 with the Gragas bug, they would have lost that game. The momentum was with EDG at that point, it felt like Fnatic was a hair away from a complete tilt. In game 1 Reignover going 1v2 after Huni got ganked, in game 2 EDG duo lane completely out-pressured FNC duo lane and Yellowstar as Alistar ulting & blowing exhaust trying to get a kill in a 1v1.

I'm happy they got the win, but they will have a lot to improve for the semi-finals, not to mention the finals.

Fuck riot and fuck FNC, that remake was pure bullshit, since rumors say the remake was purely at FNC's discretion when they were clearly in the less favorable position regardless of the bug. (Sure FNC outscaled but they had no way to deal with the 3-1-1 or Fiora or Kass in 1 vs 1 ever.)

It's unprofessional as hell to leave the other team 100% out of with zero say or compensation when they were in a favorable position, make FNC give a ban or side choice in game 5, or something. Especially with riot going "oh we aren't even going to disable gragas cause he's meta" meanwhile Shen was disabled for years in the past due to an extremely rare bug.

This is the worst worlds now since S2, where riot should have realized after they need a save state feature to prevent these catastrophic failures in competitive play, yet they didn't. If FNC make to the finals because of this I am not even going to watch it, honestly.

What were they supposed to do? Force them to finish the game with a broken Gragas? Remove bans from Fnatic for being behind at that stage of the game? The only thing I think they could/should have done was to remake the game with the same picks/bans, but I have no idea how it works. Maybe both of the teams agreed to completely redo the game, rather than forcing the same picks?
EDG Could also have won game 1, but decided that chasing down Viktor was more important than finishing the game.
EDG did a lot of silly shit these games. They got completely decimated the last game. I doubt they would have won regardless of the remake or not.

And the Gragas bug is very hard to reproduce. Riot haven't been able to correct it because of this. So I doubt Fnatic did it intentionally.

You're talking about that as if FNC wasn't in a situation where one of their champions was basically half-useless due to a bug (Gragas having no Q is a BIG deal, especially with those comps). Forcing them to either play out a game with that bug (they even tried killing Gragas and that didn't fix it) or lose a ban/side choice ect due to a bug would be far more unprofessional because it's a situation completely outside anyone's control.

And it really wasn't that clearcut as you're saying it was. FNC was going to outscale HARD, another 5-10 minutes in that game there's probably no way for EDG to crack the base without dragon/baron, which would mean committing into a 5v5 against a better teamfighting composition. Gangplank would've been able to hold a lane, if just purely through barrels, and I don't actually know how the Vayne/Fiora 1v1 turns out. Azir/Gragas/Braum are then more than enough waveclear to hold mid.

Also, picks/bans being included in the remake was probably (can't remember it entirely) because both teams had already given away their strategies with those comps so having them play the same game again would probably be risking an unfair advantage to one of the teams (for instance knowing if they want to lane swap or not can be pretty big). You saw that EDG next game changed their bans and weren't willing to go for the Morde/Gangplank swap again.

One more thing, looking it up the bug isn't Gragas specific and extremely rare/unreproduceable, which is why he wasn't disabled in response.

People are going all mad because of the g2 remake. It's not even clear that FNC would have lost just because EDG had the momentum. And let's make one thing clear: FNC is the better team than EDG. It was much more likely for FNC to advance than EDG even if they lost g2.

As for how the bug issue was handled, it got handled exactly like the rules state. All teams know exactly what the rules are and have agreed to them.

Furthermore, China screwed China.

All three teams were a bunch of lazy scrubs that didn't practice enough for Worlds or respect their opponents. They got what they deserved.

So much for Korean mercenaries. You can't beat the real thing. Hope this year showed everyone that.

And don't worry. Whoever wins the Korea v Korea showdown will rip Fnatic a new arsehole almost as hard as SK Telecom will rip Origen a new one.

Besides, who else besides SK Telecom looks in form to win this year, anyway?!

Face it, the only two teams who got better after the MSI were SK Telecom and KT Rolster.

FNC won their games with comebacks, they didn't have a solid lead to build on...imo this could translate to them being able to keep their composure at crucial moments and survive any team's finishing strategy. Even though I didn't vote for FNC, it would be nice to see a EU team make the finals again.

Clearly this should put some finality on the FNC/EDG remake. Remakes are a fact of sports in general, people shouldn't complain, no matter who was in the lead or who was experiencing the bug.
