Ok who has seen episode 13 (the one that comes with the DVDs)?

Just saw the DVD only episode today. Wow, that was really good. Reminded me how much I missed this show and how sad I am that it wasn't longer. Great that it focused on Komaki, who had gotten almost zero development since the series started. I wish they'd do another season of this, if there's that much material.

Fanboyism aside, I fully agree with how this ep reminds people of how they loved this show. Character dynamics zenkai for the win, excuse my net slang.

That was a very lovely episode, and it was just so much fun to see this cast again. I always wanted an episode for Komaki in the TV series, so i'm glad i finally got to see that here. It was never said, so does anyone know when does this take place in the shows storyline?

It's so sad to yet again see this show and it's wonderful cast leave me.

Little bits of the Doujou-Kasahara relationship were scattered throughout the episode, so I thought that it happens after the series proper.

Ah, typical Toshokan Sensou. Really weird loopholes (The Japanese sure love delving into and exploiting loopholes in legal-speak don't they? They do that all the time in their culture as well, where a LOT of scandals including the infamous whale-hunting happens).

And of course, the nosiness of the sidecharacters. One romantic happening? LET'S GET NOSY AND MAKE IT MISSION PRIORITY NUMBER ONE.

Kasahara has always been nosy, haha. Also, I don't know if this is after or before their relationship has begun. I'd like to think he wouldn't slap her after they started dating and she waited by his bedside all that time, lol.

Ahh...nice episode that left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Love between a young girl and her heroic onii-san. *sigh*

Perhaps it's just me, but Marie looks a lot like a long-haired version of Kasahara (who happened to look quite cute in tank-top at the beginning of the episode

). I wonder if this episode is an anime-original. If it is, I hold very high hopes for I.G.-original episodes in the future, in the same vein as The Second Gig. Heck, the studio kind of owes it to fans, since they've condensed so much of the novels to fit a one-season time slot.

Here's hoping that Toshokan Sensou will get a Region 1 release soon.

Well, getting back to episode 13, I quite liked this episode as much as any series episode and perhaps more. I thought this story took place in the same time period as the series, perhaps early in Kasahara's "training," as Doujo puts it. I also was shocked when he slapped her but that's because I've seen the end of the series. In that context of the first half it would have still been noteworthy but less out of context.

I had hoped that Shibasaki would play a bigger role and become the instigator rather than Kasahara. She does love that behind-the-scenes stuff though.

Does anyone know who voiced Marie? She excelled in her brief but effective performance. I didn't see her in the cast list at ANN. (BTW, who is Tanaka Rie's character Origuchi Maki? I don't remember her, nor do I remember hearing Tanaka. I looked in a couple of places including Wikipedia and didn't see an entry for either Tanaka or her character.)

Edit - I think she's the charismatic Director in the later episodes.

Without a doubt the voice actor who did Marie was Ueda Kana.

Been a fan of her performances for a while.
