Great program! If I could make one suggestion for future releases, though, it'd be the ability to add multiple {\t}'s on a line with different time values based on the start and end times on the \k. So you could, for example, turn {\k30} into {\t(0,150,\bord10)}{\t(150,300,\bord3} by putting in "s" in the "Start" field and "(s+e)/2" in the End field for the first effect and "(s+e)/2" for Start and "e" for End on the second effect.

Uh... if that makes sense...

But anyway, great program as is. I'll get use out of this one for sure! Thanks!
if you want half and half

s+(d/2) and s+(d/2) for first
and then s+(d/2) and e for second

to make three for one s, s+(d/3) for first and s+2(d/3) and s+2(d/3) then s+2(d/3) and e for third

this is only for if you want sequential effect (like color fades to white then back to orginal etc.)

Wrong In 1.07 I enhanced the "old" simple-k-replacer.lua script, so you can also do calculations. Like this:
\t($start,%$start+$dur*5%,\fscx120)
(Yeah it does look a little messy, but it'd be too hard to code otherwise :P)
There's also a new, similar script for doing one-line-per-syllable effects.

Woah, cool! (I was using 1.04 up 'till now).

Thanks for the suggestions and recommendations, everyone! I wasn't aware of some of the other tools out there. This whole process just got a whole lot easier.

I need some help too :/

I everything timed and placed and styled. But I'm having issues with the japanese text karaoke. I have it vertically placed (270 degrees) and to the side. If works fine when its the basic karaoke, but when I put in the scripts and effects and stuff, it goes back to being horizontal again, and the text is turned to the side. I've tryed doing the Z-degree override but it doesn't solve the problem.

Here's an example of what I have:

"Dialogue: 0,0:00:35.75,0:00:38.36,Dreamy 3 (Japanese),NTP,0000,0000,0000,Karaoke,{\org(10000, 50000)}{\frz0\t(0,125,\frz-0.03)\t(125,250,\frz0)}真{\frz0\t(250,485,\frz-0.03)\t(485,720,\frz0)}昼{\frz0\t(720,840,\frz-0.03)\t(840,960,\frz0)}の{\frz0\t(960,1225,\frz-0.03)\t(1225,1490,\frz0)}空{\frz0\t(1490,1755,\frz-0.03)\t(1755,2020,\frz0)}月{\frz0\t(2020,2320,\frz-0.03)\t(2320,2620,\frz0)}が"

I'd appriciate any help ><

Look at your code and you'll find your problem... You might have the text rotated frz270 in the style... but what are the effects doing?

This is the syle definition
"Style: Dreamy 3 (Japanese),@Arial Unicode MS,41,&H00FCFEA0,&H00565229,&H00370000,&H80370000, 0,0,0,0,100,100,0.00,270.00,1,1.00,2.00,3,30,30,30 ,0"

And the effects make the syllables go up and come back down as sung. Is the script overriding the line being vertical because of all the \frz ?

Yes, the \frz0 is killing the "270" setting of the angle. You'll need to use \frx override to achieve the same effect, and you'll have to play with \pos quite a bit so the line shows up at a proper place with that big of \org adjustment.

sorry to bump this thread as it is a little outdated now but i was wondering if anyone could teach me howto do karaoke like these or point me in the right direction? i know the basics of \t but these really interesting effects puzzle me ^^;

- nanashi's noein opening
- gg's ayakashi ending
- any's he is my master opening
- anime-empire's capeta opening
- kickassanime's chobits opening

i am really curious about how these ones work.

Since I don't have any of those, if you can make sample of each available for download, I can better help out, especially chobits.

I have seen the Noein OP. Its pretty well done, the whole fire x ice thing. I guess AFX has done it, or you could do some really neat stuff with a thick outline....

The noein op is done completely in ass, not afx, I can't really explain how its done, as each line has a ton of layers, the entire script is around 7000 lines.

Heres one line to give you an idea.

Dialogue: 0,0:00:45.90,0:00:49.56,Default,,0000,0000,0000,,{ \fad(300,300)}{\pos(130,30)}{\bord0\be1\alpha&HFF& }gin i{\alpha&HCC&}{\t(890,890,\fscx100\fscy100\alpha&H CC&)\t(890,1390,\fscx250\fscy250\alpha&HFF&}{\t(13 90,1390,\fscx100\fscy100\alpha&HCC&)\t(1390,1890,\ fscx250\fscy250\alpha&HFF&}{\t(1890,1890,\fscx100\ fscy100\alpha&HCC&)\t(1890,2390,\fscx250\fscy250\a lpha&HFF&}{\t(2390,2390,\fscx100\fscy100\alpha&HCC &)\t(2390,2890,\fscx250\fscy250\alpha&HFF&}{\t(289 0,2890,\fscx100\fscy100\alpha&HCC&)\t(2890,3390,\f scx250\fscy250\alpha&HFF&}{\t(3390,3390,\fscx100\f scy100\alpha&HCC&)\t(3390,3890,\fscx250\fscy250\al pha&HFF&}ro {\fscx100\fscy100\alpha&HFF&}no sora wo

Sylf: That is the Chobits Op I made for KAA. It's very overkill. XP

Kakyuusei: There are three color groups that it would chose from randomly every 100ms while rotating up/down and compressing in fscy. The colors were all taken from the op itself. When each letter is sang, another syllable appears on top that is a random color. The letters faded in every 50 ms (or so) at the start, and the romaji and kanji move out in opposite directions.

The ayakashi ed is not as complex as Chobits. The letters transition in with some awesome mathetical formula that I don't really get. :^D They start as 150%, raise to 200%, then go back down to 100% while fading in. The rest of it is pretty simple.

And haha... I told you someone would think that Noein op was afx Draders~

I think it's a good place to tell about a bug in VSFilter, avoid using too much drawn clip because it make VSFilter crashes.

I'm encoding a video that use too much drawn clip, I had to make separate subtitle scripts and encode the video applying those script each in turns using a loseless codec before encoding the final result using XVID and mp3.

Drawn clip, you mean clip with drawing commands?
I think it might have to do with just using too many clips on screen at a time in general, since I also had an effect using lots of (rectangular) clips, which made TextSub crash during encoding.

Anyway, I just spent some time writing a txt. I hope it'll be of use (and I'd love some criticism!)

Here is one (criticism), you should divide your tutorial in basic and advanced (and pro ?) indexed area.

I just made a encode of two of my most complex karaokes.
I had to split the scripts in several parts for the opening to be encodable (VSFilter bugs).

Happy 7 Opening

Happy 7 Ending

If someone want the scripts just ask me in PM.
