More like two words : not good.
I didn't mind her design however and as long as it may turn out to be a prequel, it's fine. I have one question : is this artwork drawn by Tetsuya Nishio ? I have strong Naruto vibes when looking at this pic.

But is she still popular in Japan? Is Origa still popular? Prob alot of otaku would be salivating at hearing Kalifina before Origa now.
Since it's all about selling the CDs, if they aren't popular, they're not going to be used. It's better looking than what she was wearing in SAC.

That's true. I have to wonder just what the animators were thinking when they designed her attire. I can't believe that they would think it plausible that a woman would run around in public like that and not feel ashamed or , at the very least, get harassed.

Here's to hoping Kise will be IG's next Hiroyuki Okiura (citing their similar backgrounds, from chiefly animation to overall direction).
Also, normally I would have cringed at The Major's outfit on season 1 of SAC, but she carried it with so much flair and finesse that I barely noticed it. |

Hm, don't know how I feel about the new outfit. It could grow on me and I certainly don't find it awful. Heck its not like what she wore in SAC 1 was more stylish than this. As far as the TV shows are concerned my favorite outfits for the major have always been the ones she wore in SAC season 2.

Almost everything Puppetmaster. As much as I love GITS, I hated the whole merging concept. Motoko is an interesting enough character without turning her into some kind of internet god. In fact, that's why I liked SAC, due to the emphasis on classic science fiction storytelling of viewing humanity through the window of a plausible future setting. The Oshii films are good, don't get me wrong, but the first's ending didn't sit well with me, and the second felt empty without Motoko (and her appearance at the end was just silly).
