Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (Sequel to above) Resistance: Fall of Man
Resistance 2
Killzone 2
LittleBigPlanet
SOCOM: Confrontation inFamous
Valkyria Chronicles Demon's Souls
Disgaea 3 Warhawk
I've bolded the ones that are the most well-known, essentials, hard-hitters, GOTY winners/contenders/nominees (Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, Demon's Souls). This isn't a comprehensive list by any means, but it is a list of all the games I have and thought were excellent...probably except for SOCOM. I felt disappointed with the way Slant Six seemed to have rushed it out.
Now as for the BEST of my list, I'd have to say Valkyria Chronicles. Just no other SRPG quite like it. =D
Yeah I got Valkyria Chronicles very good game. I was about to buy Demon soul's but I haven't bought it yet since I just bought borderlands. Can you tell me if it is any good from your experience?
yep, friend was complaining to me about how hard demon souls is. its like, if you die supposedly you are a ghost (like in WOW) and you gotta go bak to your body, if you die while in ghost form or something, you lose your money. every time you die the stage gets harder.
as for games, i played:
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
^both great games for the story & graphics
Resistance 2
^this one is okay to me
Killzone 2
^good graphics, but friend told me controls feel 'heavy' when you play. different from any other FPSes.
The singleplayer was ok. The presentation was awesome, story and characters however were really flat, as usual in shooters. I also disliked the fact that you can only have two weapons at a time, one of them being always a pistol. It takes about 7-8 hours to finish the singleplayer campaign on the default difficulty setting.
Now the multiplayer on the other hand is just incredible. You know, some games feel great during the singleplayer campaign, and then the multiplayer is just nice to have. With Killzone 2 it's the exact opposite. There are, I believe, eight maps. Each of them is well designed. I just dislike one though, because it's just too big. At the beginning you only have one class - the regular soldier. As you earn you points during online play, you slowly unlock 6 other classes. Than you can unlock the secundary abilities of each of these classes, and more stuff like more ammunition and grenades, all by acomplishing different goals. You can even "fuse" two classes, meaning you have the primary ability of one and the secundary ability of the other class. Those classes play really different and unlocking all these badges that grant you new classes and abilities is extremely motivating.
Killzone 2's multiplayer is definately one of the best I've ever played.
I can't believe I'm saying this, because before I bought the game I was very sceptic about it, but if you like shooters and online play, Killzone 2 is a must-have at the price of just 30 bucks.

Spoiler for My opinion on Uncharted and Uncharted 2:
To be clear right from the beginning, those games are a must-have to any ps3-owner.
Graphicwise Uncharted 1 was the best of any console back in 2007, Uncharted 2 is currently the best-looking game out there, I'd say.
In terms of gameplay, the Uncharted-series is something unique. It's a mixture of Tomb Raider and Gears of War, meaning you'll be shooting from a third-person perspective at one time, jumping platforms at another time, and solving puzzles at some parts of the game. The great thing about that is, that the developers really designed each gameplay aspect really well. In my opinion the shooting part in Uncharted 1 was a little heavier than in Uncharted 2, but that could just be me. In Uncharted 2 there´s also the possibility to sneak up on enemies.
The Story is pretty solid, I'd say, but the storytelling however is simply great. Each character feels real due to superb voice acting and animations, and there are quite some twists in the story. Oh, and the ingame presentation is phenomenal. I mean I´ve never before played situtations like this one: I'm in an office at the fourth floor of a building or so, shooting enemy soldiers, when suddenly a helicopter glares through the windows and shoots two rockets into the building, causing it to slowly fall towards another building, all while me, my comerade and the enemies are still inside. This stuff happens during gameplay. It's by far the most intense gameplay experience I've had. Both games are a little too short, but Uncharted 2 makes up for it with a multiplayer mode.
And that one's quite good. There are all the common gameplay types as well as cooperetive missions. You can also unlock a few passive abilities like more damage with a certain weapon. One thing I HATE about Uncharted 2's multiplayer though, is that grenades explode too frkn fast.
If it's just about the multiplayer I'd say go get Killzone 2 instead of Uncharted 2, but else those two games really are a must-have.
Uncharted: 9/10 points Uncharted 2: 9.5/10 points
Spoiler for My opinion on inFAMOUS:
inFamous is really something different. You're some kind of supernatural hero (or anti-hero) with electric powers. As you progress through the story you unlock new abilities, which are really cool, and there are moments in the game where you have to decide if you want to do something good or something evil. Some abilities are only accesible if you're on the "good side". Some are only available if you're on the "evil side".
The game's story is intriguing and twisting, but not that well told. All the conversations you'll have are over radio, and all the "cutscenes" are in comic-like sequences of pictures. Some may like it, I do not. The game also has two different endings, given the karma-mechanic.
The graphics aren't that great. And animations are stiff, too. Only your character is really well animated. The surroundings are dark and mostly grey. Sometimes I wished some of the buildings were accessible for a nice change of scenery, but ok. There are a lot of side missions to do, but only a few mission types, which makes the game quite repetitive, if you want to do all the missions, like I did. There are a few bossfights, which are really cool, but imo there were a little too few.
All in all inFAMOUS is a good game. If you can get it at a cheap price, you'll have an adventure worth your money, but still you should consider buying Uncharted or Killzone 2 first, which were more fun to me, but that's also dependent on which type of game you prefer.

Spoiler for My opinion on MGS4:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots plays pretty much the same 3 and 2 does, but you have a free camera, which was introduced at first in MGS3 Subsistence. One thing I dislike about the gameplay is, that it's too forgiving. I mean it's supposed to be a stealth game, but sometimes you can just burst your way through the enemies, if you take cover of course, your health bar isn't too big. Also if you have a lot of enemies behind you, and you enter a cutscene, all the enemies will be gone afterwards. Other than that it plays pretty solid. The bossfights are great and epic, if your into the story. And speaking of story, the Metal Gear-series has by far the deepest story of any game-series I've ever heard of. But that's exactly the problem. If you haven't played at least MGS2 before, you won't understand even half of the story, and thus get bored pretty early in the game, because there are a lot of cutscenes and they are long...
It also has a multiplayer, but I've never tried it. I heard you can only play the standard multiplayer package if you don't pay, which includes only a few maps and so on.
If you've played all the titles before, than for god's sake play this game. It will make you laugh and cry...a lot.
I'd give the game 9/10 points.
Spoiler for My opinion on Resistance:
Resistance: Fall of Man...I don't wanna waste too many words on that. It's a solid shooter with solid graphics at it's time and the usual flat storyline and characters. The greatest thing about this game are the weapons. I think it has six different weapons. You can have them all at the same time and they play very different. At the beginning the game tends to get a littly boring but near the end the presentation becomes better and better. You'll be fighting this big enemies called "Angels" and ride a huge mech at one point. It also has a cooperative gameplay mode, and on- and offline cooperative multiplayer. The multiplayer is your standard get out there and kill some. Nothing comparable to Killzone 2's multiplayer but still fun.
If you like shooters but are more interested in singleplayer campaigns and cooperative play, then I'd say get this game instead of Killzone 2, and afterwards get Resistance 2. If your more interested in multiplayer, Killzone 2 is by far the better choice.
I'd give the game 7.5/10 points.
