Well its over, time to move on. I tried to give the filler ending a chance, but episode 23 and 24 is just a kick to the balls. Some reason they gave the crazy bitch Esdeath a "happy" ending with Tatsumi by defiling his corpse and destroying them both, when they could of easily buried him with Mine which would of been so much better, so much. Also the whole reasons that Leone, Tatsumi and Mine died is so half assed. Mine died cause her Imperial arms exploded? Bols anyone? Tatsumi died because he stopped a big giant mech from hitting people? Where the hell were the others who could of helped him stop it? Leone died from gunshot wounds? Instead of walking around, go to a freaking doctor. The filler portion of the anime could of been down so much better. 5/10.

Tatsumi dead.
Akame vs Esdeath! That was one epic fight. Had fun watching it. Akame's transformation was cool. Esdeath's end was kinda romantic. Leone got herself killed too, but not before she ended the prime minister. Good ending.

Lame, everything was lame for me regarding the scriot and how things were handled, the only thing that I enjoyed was thenfight, then everything was for me like 'meh, i already know this is crap, so why do I bother'. Glad that i started the manga back in chapter 5, if not i would be like...dont know and i dont want to think about it.
Until half of chap 19 9/10, after that, 5/10 At least bols wife and daughter appeared in the last part

And there's also Chelsea's death. In previous episodes/chapters, we're shown how Chelsea can transform in split-second just before Kurome & Wave barged in a room where she was in. But then she suddenly lost that ability of hers when Kurome "revived" and chasing her. She took too much time to transform into little practical animals (like little cats or insects) and escape just so the author can make Kurome's zombies sliced & diced her for shock value. PS: From the looks of things, Mine didn't die becuse her teigu exploded, but from the damage she suffered after repeatedly tanking Budou's lightning wave which should be able to fry people the first time around. Tatsumi defeating a giant mech the size of Evangelion (powerful as hell) and saving many people in the process like Superman, what's wrong with that? Akame, with the type of skill she has, definitely couldn't help Tatsumi tanking the mech with raw power (you need a jet propeller like what Tatsumi/Incursio had at the moment or something similar to help him pushing Shikotazer) while the other NR & Jaegers already ran out of juice or still helping the civillians.

I never was impressed by the adaptation, even before they started changing things after Chelsea death due to how the composition and presentation were quite weak, but for a final episode, it was a complete letdown.
Frankly, the fight was awkward as hell: lots of "sliding" layers (Akame and Esdeath charging at each other), choppy animation and awkward perspective left and right. They tried to show something intense by making Akame "flash dashing" everywhere, but the motions themselves and the flow of the battle was awfully slow. Also, there were so many things that are beyond head scratching worthy: -Leone dying like trash despite she has plenty time to tend her wounds. Considering how she died, she plainly succumbed from blood loss, and not something like a curse/poison. Therefore, it makes even less sense for her to roam around and dies like that HOURS later. -That "solemn" execution of the emperor was also questionable at best. Regardless if he was manipulated by Onest or not, it was pretty bizarre for him to act like this. Same can be said to Najenda. -There is no damn reason for Akame to leave the capital, let alone being the scapegoat. The story hardly show any apparent evidence that the Revolution Army or Night Raid did anything "wrong" for the public, and it makes even less sense since Najenda was also known as an insurgent by the Empire, yet could stay and even contribute to the kingdom reconstruction. Really, there are tons of things that are left to be desired. Of course, the original manga is hardly outstanding by any means, but I don't think it warrants such clumsy adaptation nonetheless. I surely hope the manga won't follow this plotline, because it was a major headache. Also, reminder: please do -not- directly compare the anime with the manga! Some people are anime only viewers and might check the manga afterwards. Describing the difference for characters' death or even stating who died and who survived will blatantly spoil them right from the get go. Going to clean the thread now.

Well a decent ending though. Was hoping Tatsumi somehow manages to draw his last breath and helps Akame against her fight with Esdeath (p.s. I ship Esdeath/Tatsumi) but nope. Also Tatsumi get blown to pieces along with Esdeath... Man, give this guy a proper burial.
So those 3 girls showed in the aftermath when the Revo army was marching through the town victorious, are from the manga? Oddly, one of them looks like Mine while the other one looks like Leone. No idea about the blue haired one. Leone's death was really unnecessary and dying in the street alley?... and there's Akame being a fugitive still. Damn. |

Oh well, at least Wave survives and that part is pleasing to me. Really don't get why they had to get rid of Leone though. I didn't find that part pleasing.

He deserved a suffering dead!!! I saw the leaked storyboard and prepare to dissapointed. Turn out it is not so bad final score: 6/10

The ending was so clumsily handled. Sadly, Klashikari already beat me to the punch with most of my issues.
Still pissed that Tatsumi couldn't have at least been buried with the people he cared for. Nope. Esdeath had to shatter his body...bitch...

This ending had quite a few flaws but most of them have already been listed above by Klashikari.
Leone's death wad really unnecessary. I'm also real pissed that Tatsumi couldn't be buried with the people he loved and cared about or even in his village where he is now seen as hero. Instead Esdeath had to defile and destroy the body.
