They remind me of some charcters from one of KyoAni's commercials

That, in its own way, makes him "Kyon". A boy who was into all sort of strange thing before high school, but gave them up when he got there...only to have his real life shattered by a girl that still believed...and at least one other girl....
The only think we don't know is his personality at present. He doesn't look cynical and snarky in the promotional image. So this is a wait and see or read it if you can find it and give us a clue.

That is possible too. Though still the thought remains as to when, though if it is an OVA they aren't as tied to seasons.
And two novels can be made into a 12 or so episode series. If there is enough plot per novel to sustain 6 episodes each.

I think it's highly unlikely we'll see it in the summer. If there is something released on TV, it'd likely be a Fall 2012 series. The only series you could say KyoAni released during the summer only would be the new episodes during Haruhi's re-airing. By then a third novel will have likely come out, giving 4 episodes per novel for a 12 episode season and a decent adaptation rate. Of course, they could go for a movie to continue the trend of TV series/movie in the 2010s.

It's possible for this title to be aired on the same season as Hyou-Ka, due to the fact that KyoAni did the same trend in April 2009 with the second Haruhi Suzumiya series (not really the new series, but the last 14 episodes shown in July are new episodes compared to the old first 14 episodes which were originally released in 2006) and K-ON!.
