I agree with most of your points but, I watch Anime online. I have a 42 inch LCD flatscreen monitor and I'm using FirFox. So I can watch flash movies Fullscreen. It still isn't better than downloading them but, they're still watchable and enjoyable.

Natsuki from Mai Hime, easily my favorite after watching countless anime.

My favorite character is Mitsuki from KGNE/Rumbling Hearts. I think she is an incredibly complex character with whom I was able to sympathize, even though she made some decisions I didn't agree with. Rumbling Hearts was the first time I've ever become emotionally invested with an anime show and that was due in large part to her character. It's too bad that a large majority of people seem to despise her. Her circumstances and situation spoke to a part of me and I so desperately wanted to see her succeed despite some of her poor decisions.

A very close second would be Revy from Black Lagoon.
