When I said to use \an5, I meant to get it in the middle of the screen - why would you want it anchored to the top? O.o,

If you're using multi-template, then wouldn't "keeptags" work?

Edit: Owait, it sez "exclusive w/notext lines". :v

Why would you want the kanji part of a karaoke centered in the middle of the screen? @_@

Using \an5 and the same trick with an extremely wide margin to the left or right, you can get the kanji vertically centered in the left or right side of the frame.

Hello, just a question about the kara-templater: is it possible to insert a new karaoke line for each iteration of a for loop (the loop is included in a code line) ?

PS: I'm trying to split a line into multiple clips.

The only way to loop in kara-templater is to use the "loop" modifier on a template line, code lines can't generate output. Currently there isn't any way to have a variable number of loop iterations.

Thank you for this quick reply
Actually I tried to sidestep this with some "funny" changes in my code line. It seems to work, but I need to improve the code a bit to achieve what I really want.

Obviously, but that usually looks pretty dumb though. In my not so humble opinion it's better to anchor it to one of the top corners.

Hi, I have a question about the karaoke effect from the OP of Shinsen's release of Soukou no Strain.
Would you help me in doing something similar to it?

With After Effects or with Aegisub? Both ways are easy to do. Just give up on Aegisub > You will only be able to do something amazing knowing programming. With AFX you can be a great stupid guy (me) and do some tricky things.

What I say here is also true. SUPER true

I mean by something amazing jfs's, kingofbeer's, Tuvok82's, apih's, getfresh's, Tentacle's, kip's stuff. Sometimes I can do similar things in AE, but it is incredibly complicated, since know I don't scripting nor programming nor nothing, and I rarely get to do such a high level animation. I used to make karas in SSA, very easy and sucky ones, but I found AE and saw it more powerful, imaginative, interactive and handy.

Good (free?) subbing software for PVs

Ello everyone, I want to create karaokes for Japanese PVs, and since you all are quite experienced in this field, what software (hopefully free) would you recommend using for this type of job?

Aegisub It's a good all around program for subbing in general, and the karaoke mode is pretty good.

How can I get these Karaoke effects on Aegisub:

I'm not sure how you can get these effects and when I try to karaoke it, it goes back to the karaoke effects that aegisub already have. What do I have to do?

You'll have to start with making sense.

(hint: to get someone to help you, you will need to provide information about what exactly you did, what happened when you did it, and what you were expecting to happen instead)

Please and thank you

Also i get this error when using Virtual Dub Mod on the video i want to sub

It says:
Couldn't Locate decompressor for format XVID (unkown)
Virtual Dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only Direct Stream Copy is available for this video.
