Considering how long it was before anyone knew for sure if KyoAni was making K-On...or even these new episodes of Haruhi...there is no way to know what they are up to.

I'm pretty sure no one actually knew anything about the new Haruhi episodes until Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody aired. Are you suggesting we won't know anything until the next batch are actually aired?

It's true; they seem to be late in announcements... but I only started paying attention lately. Have they always been sorta protective of what they'll be airing next until the last minute?

I'm pretty sure they announced Kanon normally. Pretty sure.
They announced Clannad by tacking an announcement on the end of Kanon.
Afterstory was announced at the end of Clannad.
I'm pretty sure I heard about K-on about 2 months before it aired. I knew they canceled their other planned spring show that K-on replaced.

Their either doing nothing and taking a break (For the winter season?) or they're being real secretive.

If whatever possible secretive little project they're working on isn't Little Busters, then I hope it's Haruhi.

I'd love to see Little Busters too. I read the 4Koma manga for it online, and it's hilarious. Great cast too.

Why would you even want a movie?
To wait eight more months until it hits DVD?

Isn't it just Gainax that like to wait forever to release DVDs or is that the norm in Japan?

It's normal everywhere, I guess, to hold the home video release of a movie for half a year.

Best case scenario at this point is probably to have Disappearance airing in a new Haruhi season starting in Spring of 2010.

So... either way, we're going to be waiting several months at least.

I don't really watch/purchase movies but it always seemed to me that most U.S. DVDs come out just a few months after premiering in theaters.

Well...This rerun, There really wasn't all that much in terms of new content and they had clearly finished most of it before it was even aired (TMoHS Episode 1 i mean). They could have been working on a new season while this rerun was airing.

Possibility of november is still very much there.

Just a hunch.

They announced this rerun like 4 months before it aired.

Hell they probably started working on it before they announced it.

Isn't that the case with most of everything? I'd say they started around Summer last year.

Well, in one of recent diary entries at kyotoanimation.com they said that the animation work is finished. So, it's finished by the end of August. I highly doubt that they were finishing the Sighs by that time, so... yeah. Bad case scenario is not impossible, but Sighs V do not look particulary rushed.

Said entry:
