The problem is that in every fight, against every kind of opponents, somehow they are 'forced' to use Build Knuckle, in the exact same matter.

We see the first serious use of Build Knuckle in a fight against Felini, it wasn't spammed before that. It was fresh, the MS brawl was awesome, and then the subsequent fights involve the shield being disabled immediately, and then:

Mao with huge ass BEAM saber? Punch it with Build Knuckle

Nils with mobile suit chi attack? Punch it with Build Knuckle

Aila who can predict moves? Punch it with Build Knuckle

Next up, Dark Matter Exia with power to distort reality. Punch it with Build Knuckle

No, RG system is risky, but no way double edged

Basically, the only way to damage RG-fied Strike is... to overpower it or hit the weak point.

Otherwise, just extend the match and let Strike twist itself to wreckage.

The fight wasn't spectacular as I had hoped. I wanted Reiji and Sei to use the RG system to defeat Aila while she was in her powered up form. The fight just turned into a brawl at the end.

During that whole white space scene with Reiji and Aila, it seriously reminded me of 00's Twin Drive Trans-Am system where its GN Particles made people be able to communicate in a white space.

Looks like the writers ran out of time to do any meaningful battle. It was mainly a relationship building/get things out in the open eps. It's still a whole lot better than watching Freedom Strike and a bunch of other Gundam's firing funnels at each other while they yell at each other.

Not sure if it was just me, but at first it seemed like Axis Shock, but then it definitely seemed to turn into a GN Burst sequence.

Newtype scenes work much better with clothes on. Every other newtype scene witha few exceptions I always loose focus of the conversation and just think myself for a second. If that was me there I so would either point out that we are both naked and glowing and this shit is weird or make a comment about the girls rack. Most likely both.

Her quick reactions greatly depend on reading the flow of the particles. If the Build Knuckle does something weird/unusual with the particle flow, which it does, then it's reasonable that she won't be as great against it as the others.

The SBS in RG mode does its best against people whose skill rely on particle manipulation (Nils, Aila, Mao to a certain extent), which so happens to be the best in the tournament. Against those without it, it's just Reiji's skill.

Which means that, if Baker manipulated the seeding, then she unwittingly gave Reiji/Sei the better path to the finals. The other path had Luang and the Renato brothers.

I wonder, when Reiji was swinging his fists in the air, if he had the RG system turned on earlier, could he have punched her and the story would be cut short? Then Aila would have to gone home poor. What a sad story.

The glowing and "help me" reminds me of Macross Frontier

^ Agreed. I don't think they would've won against the Renato bros. they had major issues at the ocean spa huge mech

On the one hand, great episode for Aila, on the other hand, why do they have to sacrifice the battle for it? And really, Aila, if you want to beat Reiji in earnest, then pick up the funnels/bits that you dropped.
