...there would be no plot. Just Earth getting blown up. Anyway, it takes time for them to gather the data of what they assimilated I presume. Hence, the long transformation sequences in the beginning.

Not the same as repelling another Innovator's, but that situation shows it's most likely possible.

Hmm...It's more predictable that Setsuna can repel Innovades' QBW since the Innovades are B-class users. But an alien species with QBW repelling an Innovator's QBW is somewhat weird O_O....I thought the Innovator's QBW are the greatest of all. Also, the article about the 00 Raiser Condenser's "quantum field" is not enough to cope up with the ELS' QBW so does it means that the ELS are beyond of that Innovator's QBW?

What I want to know is, when an ELS assimilate a person (ie someone in a mobile suit), does that person get killed or become part of the the ELS hive mind.

It wouldn't be far-fetched to think this. If the history of their origins is true then they would have to be alot more in tune with GN particles since its basically what changed them into what we see now.

The person dies but i think his mind becomes part of the hive or atleast the hive can understand his mind.

This is why the ELS were attracted to QBW users. Someone said it a couple of pages back that Descrates was the one who caused the ELS to bring their whole jupiter army to attack earth because he has alot of negative emotions being a test subject/slave for the ESF. And when he was launched against the ELS, he said he intended on taking out his frustrations on them. So when he was assimilated, the ELS could read all his thoughts and assumed humans are a hostile race, leading to the ELS dispatching their whole Jupiter army to earth.

Ive watched the movie and i dont think it was stated the ELS can assimilate ones mind but assuming they can, the above events in the movie makes more sense.

The thing about that is that A-class QBWs only apply to humans. For all we know the ELS' weakest form of QBWs are ten times stronger than an Innovator's QBWs.

You dont see them being built but you do see the finished drives transported to Ian's ship when they collected 00Q from Lindy

In the movie the ELS tell Setsuna about the demise of their planet. Was it at all mentioned or hinted how far they were from Earth?

CB Engineers, who else. Like ibliza said above, there's only a brief scene in which we see the 2 new drives being off loaded when Ian went to collect the 00Q.

We're only shown how the ELS came about to be, and what happened to their origin planet, and also how they left it.

I guess that would make some sense, assuming ELS would expect another life form it meets to behave like itself. Hence assuming that the human race is also a hive-mind, and so doesn't bother itself by assimilating it to "understand" it. However it should've noticed the different emotions each human being is feeling when they're being assimilated if that was the case, but I guess everyone was afraid and angry at a hostile alien race.

This theory would only work is ELS assumes humanity as a hivemind and not individuals, it doesn't make much sense to try to understand an individual by assimilating them and effectively killing them, there's no "dialogue" to have afterwards.

Actually, This is the big puzzle on how the GN Drives of 00Qan[T] are built. We do know that ELS came from Jupiter and assimilated it's moons but how come the CB engineers managed to still built a GN Drives given that the GN Drives need TD Blankets which need to be made at the atmospheric pressure of Jupiter. I really doubt that the CB Engineers wouldn't be found because of the ELS massive numbers and that constructing 2 GN Drives is a pretty hard thing to do given of that 2 years.

It was never confirmed that the ELS had quantum brainwaves. They only sent a large amount of data to Setsuna via the GN particles.

And no, his quantum field was sufficient. It was Setsuna who was unable to cope with the large input of data into his brain. Hence, Tieria asked that a device be brought along with Setsuna so that Tieria!Veda can control the flow of data for Setsuna. Indeed, it was successful as Setsuna was able to communicate with the ELS when he was in their mothership.

No, the giant planetoid was formed out of ELS's space planetoid-like base (aka their temporary refuge) after their home planet got destroyed by the star.

ELS never came from Jupiter. They probably sought refuge at Jupiter because there were tons of elements (including metal ones) that they could exploit from. Not the Sun, because it should be too hot for them. The two moons, Io and Ganymede were probably destroyed for ELS to form more of their spear-like stuffs from.

Technological progress would do it. And now, they have Veda's assistance. Nonetheless, the Celestial Being engineers that returned from Jupiter did lament that they only managed to build 1 pair of GN drives.

Again, the ELS may have appeared at Jupiter only after Celestial Being left Jupiter with their newly built GN drives.

But...how did they MAKE the planetoid? Was it always there? Or did they take advantage of some resource?
