1) It's airing at the wrong end of the year. It will be old news by the time nominations open for saimoe 2012 (if 2012 happens at all).

2) The games have been around for years and the fanbase is highly polarised between the characters. They won't unite behind the stronger characters.

3) The anime is unpopular with a large part of the hardcore fanbase for poor production values and focussing on the "wrong" characters.

4) I don't remember Xenoglossia making much of an impact.
I don't think so most of the girls probably minus Ritsuko, twins, Azusa seems highly praised equally plus there is barely any faction that is polarized in characters in AST (Well Kuroneko's fandom is highly polarized but she still made it to the top 8 never the less). I don't think so because the games are still there and still popular. I think the anime is popular since it won one of the awards on the Newtype thing and was in the top 5 in the other categories. Xenoglossia doesn't even relate to Idolmaster at all so of course it'll be forgotten. The only "way" Idolmaster will get wiped out in round 2 is if there is a show that's over 100 times more popular than Madoka against every Idolmaster girl in round 1 or 2. I think series like Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai ,YuruYuri (possibly) or older shows might get wiped out in round 2 though. Idolmaster wise there is a high chance Miki and Yayoi will be in the final 8. Also I believe the time of year it aired doesn't matter at all for example Milky Holmes aired October 2010- December 2010 and Kokoro didn't wipe out until round 3 due to she was against Kyouko is the reason why she wiped out if she was against someone else Kokoro would of been in the final 8 by now and also look at Erica she is in the final 8 and Strike Witches 2 aired about the same time as Idolmaster but in 2010.

Same old.

Pick: Madoka
Prediction: Madoka

Would rather have Madoka win, but whatever.

Well if Mami wins it at least makes the finals a bit more interesting. I can cope up with a Rosso Fantasia versus Tiro Finale end. At least the final is a bit more climactic rather than Madoka beats all.

Mami and Kyouko interacted for a good 15 seconds in the series. Not in a good way.

Spoiler for yeah, uh huh. you know what it is.:

Unless we see a complete about-face of the opening hour, I have a feeling that the Goddess has decided to let Mami and Kyouko duke it out. Now, as a Madoka supporter, I clearly question the collective opinion of the 2channel Madoka voters, but they feel that having a main magical girl take home the prize twice in this contest's short history was enough for them.

I think the only part where they interacted was when Mami shot Kyouko.

But Yellow and Red go well together than Pink and Red. It makes for a better banner.

At this point, why would anyone who hasn't seen Madoka even care to follow this thread?

Kyouko owes Mami one for that brief interaction (on screen).

So Mami still leads by a short head?

Well that might be one song the proverbial dame can sing tonight "My Mammi/(y)" by The Late Al Jolson if she wins this one. If not then "The First Cut Is The Deepest" by Cat Stevens will have to do.

2012 NEW RETURN: Minami-Ke; goes into the mix now as well!

brolen270 too bad ◕‿‿◕ has already won the title in 2008 {in a way}!

Not too surprising, stat-wise Mami has been the top dog in this tourney and Madoka was at best #3 among PMMM girl.

For Yuri lover, Red x Yellow is also in the equation (based on drama CD 3).

◕‿‿◕ has been paying attention closely since Homura's demise; practically since Day 1 of the tournament.

Can it be that /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ is actually manipulating things so Mami wins? Homura can't stop him since she's already gone.
