Episode 1:
It's been more than 3 years but the show still feels like yesterday. Loved the way this returned with Yasaburou and the other characters. The first episode had the familiar of the first season. Glad to see the Yasaburou showing his tanuki form. It just felt so nostalgic. The comedy still feels pretty refreshing and production quality retains the way it was done before. Great episode. ED theme song sounds similar to the first season's. Welcome back Eccentric Family!

Episode 1
Finally is back! oh man this is so nostalgic, the atmosphere of this series is so relaxing and great at the same time. Yasaburou as always being an interesting character, I like the way how he plays with others with intelligence. The ending was great and filled with the best girl Benten. This is gonna be one of my favorite series this season. |

This was a very strong first episode. "Nidaime" is a really intriguing character. Is he really Akadama's son? He doesn't use wings to fly and claims not to be a tengu, so I was thinking he's a human like Benten. He had wings in the flashback though, but I wonder if that was the same person. For once, he seems not to have aged a day.
Other than that, it was nice seeing all the old characters. Kinkaku and Ginkaku are still as idiotic as ever, and I was surprised to find out they have an older brother. I don't believe he appeared in the first season. He seems quite reasonable compared to his father and brothers. Kaisei and him seem like the only sane members of their family.

A nice re-introduction to the Fool's Blood tanuki family and their acquaintances around Kyoto. The first episode was careful to feature nearly all of the regulars from the first series, even Benten who was present only in the form of postcards. The only one missing that I noticed was the elusive Ebisugawa Kaisei, Yasaburo's cousin and possible love interest.

After just finishing the series yesterday, the experience of Season 1 is still fresh in my head. That said, most of the information from the past season doesn't seem necessary. With the issue of Souichiro's death and the Nise-emon elections over, Kyoto has moved back to the normal hustle and bustle and things are less turbulent so far. (Benten leaving for a trip around the world is probably the reason.)
Anyway, a man who claims to be Nidaime showed up, and this fired up Akadama-sensei once more to the point of climbing up a hotel building and bringing his trusty windmaker fan. Looks like Yasaburo isn't troubled at all. I guess it's his fool's blood that's bringing him to a more adventurous life. I wonder if Nidaime is connected to Benten somehow, based on the depictions in the ED sequence. I could see the similarities if Nidaime is yet another human student of Yakushibo who developed tengu abilities in his tutelage. Quote:
EDIT: Come to think of it, it should explain why he's not usually around with tanuki business. He's probably busy with pilgrimages. EDIT2: Is Nidaime's air gun his own version of the Fuujin Raijin fan?

I'm happy this is back. Has it been three years already?
I, too, noticed that the first episode re-introduced everyone except Kaisei. Her and Yasaburo flirting by picking at each other was one of the more charming aspects of the first series. Maybe she was just in the background disguised as something else. |

Well, they did say that their furniture are "tengu stones". Probably those stones can take any form, but will be as heavy as a stone of the same size.
Shipping it would cost a ton that could be instead used to check in at a hotel.

Ep 01
Finally got around to watching the first ep and ... well, not bad at all. Will definitely give it a few more eps, methinks. There were many things about this that clicked for me better than Sakura Quest, and there is a sort of freshness about it that is nice to breathe. Will see where things go. ^^ Oh, and ED is by fhana! I wondered if she would be featured in a series this season. ^^

Yasaburo is so cool. I don't recall him turning into anything near the size of an elephant in series 1 though, his elder brothers had to rescue him as a giant tiger or trolley bus. Maybe his tanuki powers have got stronger. Nice that this series may look at tengu society more, since the first focused on tanuki society. The wit of the first series is definitely still there.
