The episode had a pretty swell Ed vs Greed fight, and an animated promo for the manga-only characters (it's also voiced, so be on the lookout for new voice actor announcements). But trying to fit an entire volume in one episode is... it turns the Devil's Nest into a revolving door of people aiming to kick Greed in the rear.
At least the next episode seems to have a much saner pace. |

EH? Ling by Mamoru... Whoa.
Anyways... About Ep 13... It was really way too scrunched up, but I have to say that the action was really great. And Greed was also good. Again, Izumi managed to make me laugh really hard... Overall a decent episode.

So much was cut and changed in this episode. Well the first part was pretty good. Yes there were some cuts (Roy's scene was shortened) but it flowed well, so no major complaints there.
But the 2nd part, So many changes, but what bothers me the most is they cut most of Al's scenes. I also really didn't like that they had Izumi actually hurt Greed. That is completely opposite from the manga. Well I am going to have a hard time rating this. On its own merits I guess it wasn't a bad episode but as a fan of the source material they made way too many changes for my liking. |

I believe this episode, more then anything goes to show that they just want to get to the material that wasn't covered in the first series, as soon as possible.
From a stand alone point, i really enjoyed this episode, but yeah as an adaptation the changes and what was missed out is a huge shame. The fight was still great though, and some great laughs in this episode thanks to Izumi. Also, not censoring the destruction of Greed's head was a shock. Even adding his face constructing itself back to what it was as well. This gives me high hopes that they won't lower some of the later fights in terms of gore and such. Also, is it just me or does the animation for the next episode look top notch? Personally, it's the level i've wanted to see from this adaptation from the start, and hope it's a sign of what's to come in the future after next weeks episode. The preview showing the Xing characters also backs me up on that.

Yeah it looks pretty normal to me, nothing particularly outstanding.

Yeah the Greed scenes look nice there in that preview, but then you have that shot of Lust's face which really looked odd for me so I'm split on what to think of the animation for next episode.
My impressions from the Raw....I was surprised how the first half was handled. Some obvious cuts but it didn't ruin the flow of the plot. I don't know if it's just me but the music score choice for the train station scene (before the brothers head back to Izumi's house) just did not sound right for that particular scene. As for the second half, it felt like there was a lot of missing dialogue and they changed the order of events around as well as cut off other ones (like Ed going to the south Headquarters) too. From a manga adaptation standpoint the second half looked a bit messy (kind of what I expected tho) but my Japanese is no good so I'll wait on the subs before judging this episode in its entirety. Of course, while the complaints from the fanboys of the old series will die down now, the complaints from the MANGA readers will just take its place.

I don't have much complaint for this ep. In fact I enjoyed it more than last 2 episodes.
I haven't had any time to re-read the manga yet so I don't know exactly how much change was made here but it seems like that's a good thing!
